Shrockworks delivery disappointment - how's NFab?

So you need to send your money and shut your mouth, and when it's done it's done... how long would you wait a good restaurant for food, 4 hours for your dish to arrive? What if it was a great dish when it finally got to your table? They aren't massed produced because the demand isn't that high, though apparently it's alot higher than what SW can currently handle.

Here's the real scenario - there's a great restraunt and everyone knows it takes 5 hours to get your food, all reviews are the same. Food takes for ever but it's awesome and worth the wait. You show up order a meal and 30 mins in go complaining to everyone that its taking forever. By simply reading any review on yelp, urban spoon, or talking to anyone who has eaten there knows it normally takes 5 hours.

That's what I'm saying. This is common - enough so that every forum that deals with suv/truck that SW makes something for has multiple threads on their slow turn around time. This isn't the first time it's come up in the 5th gen forums either.

If SW products are that great and the demand is so high, why wouldn't they hire some competent staff and grow their business?

Realistically speaking...if they are apparently doing just fine and dandy as is, why should they want to change? To please a few angry customers? (Please understand I am in no way saying anyone's frustration is unjust, I'd be just as annoyed if it was me!)

Let's put it this way...the demand sure seems to be there and the products coming out are still great, so what incentive is there besides trying to make a small percentage of their clientele happier?

While I'm sure reading these types of threads makes it seems like they have a lot of pissed off customers, I'm willing to be there's also a lot more happy and patience customers who are just willing to deal with it. And well of course you're not going to see threads popping up from patient customers about how they're still sitting around twiddling their thumbs and happily waiting for their product after XX weeks, right?

Obviously, some people are more patient than others and some will be on Team SW, and others will be on Team Anti-SW; but why continue to bicker at each other when even OP has already decided to just let it go and wait patiently :)

Wouldn't the incentive be to gain a larger portion of the market share, thus creating more revenue?

You forgot to allow the 20 weeks working on existing orders before they get to your order. That's what a backlog is, other orders they are have already taken and have to be done before yours.
So wouldn't it have been more accurate to give a lead time including the existing orders (20 +12 weeks)? At the very least contact your customer if you start to have troubles meeting the original

I may be in the minority here, but I feel a company should not only be judged on it's product, but it's customer service too; including estimates/lead times and overall transparency during the entire transaction. Seems many of you are willing to overlook half of the relationship imho... but frankly, I don't care what you do with your money (and I doubt you care what I think).

Maybe we should stop beating :deadhorse: and move on... :ear:

After reading all these threads about lead time I still put in my order for one of SW products. As long as I know I will get what I want.

Same. I called this morning to place my order for their bumper. I wish I could decide whether I want the tubing or not. As ordered, I've asked for the center hoop only. I can't decide whether I want to go sans all hoops, center hoop only, or change my order to include all the hoops.

You mean they advertise that their food takes 2 hours, people tell you it has taken them as long as 5 hours, and at the 2 hour mark you ask your waitress when the food will arrive and she walks away and ignores you...

Hey more power to you guys, I honestly feel like I dont fit into the 4Runner crowd on here. If you want to wait 6 months for a flippin bumper then go right ahead...

I'm on week 15 waiting for a set of Shrockworks sliders. By contrast, Toyota built an entire sport utility vehicle to my specifications IN JAPAN and got it to me in less time. (Both companies promised 12 week delivery. One exceeded expectations; one not so much)

Waiting for a reply to today's request for an update, but thinking its time to pull the plug on this pipe dream. Too bad...seems like a great product (seems being the operative word).

What has the team's collective experience been with delivery times from NFab?

I'm sure it will just tack on more wait time, but I hate to reward this kind of performance. My company builds a 200 ton LOCOMOTIVE in less than a month........

I agree the wait sucks, welcome to my world. 5 months into my order for uppers from Alexander Arms in Beowulf 50 & 6.5 Grendel. I finally got them to answer my email. Another 6 months plus wait.

I know what you mean. I took screen shots of all 5th gen bumpers out on the market. Flipped through all of them. It came down to B.B. and SW. I liked the SW the most. Then flipped through full hoops, center hoops and one with no hoops(limamikes before he got a center hoop added). Decisions, decisions. Hhhhhhmmmmmm. Get what you want!

IMO, as a 3rd party bystander, it's just too hard to judge how someone else should run their company. Sure ramping up output will gain more market share and revenue right off the bat, but at what cost?

Depending on how they operate, it could easily back fire if quality ends up taking a hit. As they say good help is hard to find and stringent quality control would most likely get harder as output increases. I'm sure we've seen it happen all too often where someone bites off more than they can chew and end up running an otherwise successful business straight to the ground.

Maybe they're doing the smart thing and keeping output low and quality high? Maybe not? I want to be clear that I am trying to be 100% neutral here and am neither praise nor criticizing SW. However, just based on pure speculation and from reading some of the recent threads/posts by them, it seems like they're trying to address these issues slowly but surely.

And I completely agree with you that a company should be judged by both it's product and it's customer service :)

Caveat emptor. Do your research before buying and make your decision from there. One guy I talked to locally waited 6 months for his bumper from SW. Some people are fine with that, but personally I wasn't so I ordered an ARB bumper instead. My biggest issue was having to pay 100% up front. Might have been different if I only had to put down half when they actually started making my bumper, then the other half on completion.

You don't have to put up 100%. You indicate on your order to charge half at production. The rest of the balance when in powder coat/shipping. This is also how Demello charges you.So far so good with my request to them.
