Silver Supra's build thread

Thanks everybody! I couldn't be happier to have this little guy here!!

I already told him that the 4Runner will be his someday. He's thrilled. :)

Congratulations!!!!!

Maybe... I'll have to put a low boost tune in for him. :)

So happy for both of you on the birth of Bryson! Start him off right - both my boys had "Simpson" brand racing car seats. At that time I had a 93 Lightning and 86 Mustang.
Make him a pacifier attached to a 5 Speed shift knob.....LOL

Enjoy every moment - and make the best memories. Little ones do grow up fast. My Sons are almost 19 & 15. Life is certainly going quickly for us.

I have really enjoyed reading your 4Runner build. Excellent Job!
And I must say....having a lady that goes to the junk yard with you and works on your 4Runner with you ROCKS!

Thanks! I can't get enough of him. I can't wait until he's out in the garage helping dad change oil. He'd better be a car guy!!! :)

I am super lucky that my woman wants nothing more than to be next to me, and I feel the same. I never dreamed I'd find someone I fit so well with. It's AMAZING!

Another update...

I was bored and decided to put the wheel/tire combo from my Tacoma on the 4Runner to see how it looks... mistake!!!

I love the new look and needless to say they aren't going anywhere. I still love the FN five stars, but the black 17's give me a 33.8" tall tire and really makes the old girl look mean!

These are 285/75R17 Toyo M/T's on 17x8 Method Roosts and they fit perfectly. No rubbing at all other than a tiny bit of the from bumper plastic lower at full lock and compressed. A tiny trim would resolve that but since it's being replaced with a new bumper soon anyway I'm not going to mess with it..

I can definitely feel the extra weight from the heavy M/T's but with the 5-speed it's not bad at all.

Finally got my Gobi roof rack from the group buy. I can't say enough good things about Gobi. Yes, it was a long lead time - but it was packaged superbly, everything fit perfectly and everything was included. Very happy with my purchase! Install was very easy too.

Here's the final result. :usa2:

A few more things added recently.

4X Innovation sliders, that I had some extra traction added too as I have never had great experience with grip tape. I love how they came out.

I also had my Gobi ladder modded to be a side ladder that is removable since my rear bumper wouldn't let it be rear mounted. This hangs over the rail and is supported by the tire.

And finally I had a drop down table added to the Shrockworks rear bumper.

Looking awesome Sup! I have a White and Silver trim 99 that Im about to start building up. Got the Lift ready to go and the 17" FN 5stars in Anthracite. Just need the tires, and Im struggling on which size to get. I know there will be some Trimming for sure and Im stuck with the Stock UCA's for a while at least. But was really eyeing the Toyo AT 3's in that 285/75/17. Basically 34"s.
