Slider opinions: Stubbs vs Savage vs 4xInnovation

I'm ready to order some sliders but, I have over analyzed as usual and want some other opinions.

I've narrowed it down to these three, so please don't add any other suggestions that may further confuse/delay my decision...

Show pics if you got them!

1) Stubbs Welding - (HD-SKO) - $335 + UPS ground shipping
Heavy Duty w/reverse Single Kick Out. 1.75” all round tube sliders
- I've seen more pics of Stubbs at this point, and have heard good things. But, they are the most expensive. Not sure why?

2) Savage Offroad - (96-02 4Runner, with Kick Out) - $249 + shipping
Made from 1 3/4" X .120 round HREW tubing.
- I have not heard or seen much regarding Savage sliders, but I like the look of these alot.

3) 4xInnovations - (90-12 4 Runner Rock Sliders) - $165 + shipping
HREW tubing with Kickout
- These seem popular because of the site sponsorship, and the low cost. Why so cheap, is this because the legs are not welded? The Stubbs and Savage come with pre-welded legs.

I'm leaning towards ordering HREW, because DOM may be overkill. But, I'll take feedback on this as well.

I like the 4xInnov's...I like the option of a kickout, without charging more. Even though you would need to get the legs welded on, I still think it'll be cheaper to go with them. And I am with you, for me DOM would be overkill.

I vote Savage. Everyone is super nice there, and they are mid-price. You get what you pay for.

Stubbs is going to be the best IMHO. His design is one of the strongest and they come fully welded and ready to go on. He uses USA CREW steel which is alot stronger than HREW but not as strong as DOM.

Since you are going to spend the money on sliders, i would just get DOM or CREW. I don't think it is worth the savings to go with HREW. Sliders are one of the things that is going to be overbuilt on my rig. (which is probably why i STILL don't have them :lmao

The 4x ones are cheaper becuase of what you said, the un-welded legs.

The way i see it, if you have to get a welder anyways to get them on the vehicle.. you might as well save a hundred bucks and get the non-welded ones from 4xInovations.

I was going to order the Savage ones with a kick out, but read that you have to trim the rear door trim on the limiteds. Then I got frustrated with all the options and haven't ordered any.

Stubbs, they are good quality and look better. I was pretty impressed with the customer service too.

+1 for Stubbs. If I had to do it all over again I would go Stubbs a second time. Great product and service and as Steeze said he uses USA CREW steel. Sliders are the most crucial piece of armor IMO and not a place to skimp.

Sort of playing out as I expected...

***Nothing negative about any of the three***

1) Less feedback about the Savage, not sure why. Got a couple of votes. Almost ordered these after doing my research, but thought I would ask my peers for some advice.
2) Stubbs are represented by actual owners with positive feedback on quality product & service. I'm planning to get Sonoran Steel 1.2 or 1.2A, and Steve at Sonoran seems to distribute Stubbs (association unknown). Was my first choice before researching sliders to death.
3) And, several votes for 4xInnov because of low cost and flexibility for custom install. I don't have a welder and I don't know a recommended local welder; so the additional welding of the legs could be positive or negative pending the quality of the person I choose to do the work.

I have no idea what expense will be involved to get any of these installed.

I wanted to order this weekend, but could not make a choice with confidence. Will take any additional feedback you have.

4xinov for sure, bolt on sliders are for mall crawlers

All of these will be welded to frame, the 4xInnov's require additional welding for the leg install... Savage and Stubbs come with legs pre-welded and mounting angle is pre-set.

Another Stubbs owner here... HD-SKO's... The reasons I chose Stubbs:

1. Reputation for strength and quality of the product
2. Reputation for excellent service from Richard Stubbs
3. The kickout design in the rear
4. Materials used in construction/type of tubing
5. Stubbs Sliders come pre-welded (legs/frame scab plates/etc.)
6. Because after I talked to Richard Stubbs I knew that I wanted to do business with him.

+1 for the Stubbs HD-SKO. I've got them and they came ready to install. Great customer service. Shipping was quick and they've held up great.

I do have Savage skid plates and they are nice. By the looks of the skid, the sliders should be pretty nice. Savage also had great customer service, and the shipping was Cheap!

These aren't the greatest pictures of the sliders but it's all I've got. I ran mine up as high as possible. Actually had to notch the pinch weld underneath about 1/2" so they had enough clearance.

There is another set of sliders out there that are $10 more than your most expensive option above. The main tube and legs are 2"x2" 3/16". The slider tubes are 1.75" .120 wall round with kick out. They also come with plates for the frame.

As you said... You're way over thinking this. In the big picture of building a rig, sliders are not a huge investment and I think you'd be happy with any of them. Even the "rule breakers"

Not going to lie, Big John makes a great point and for my personal situation I was on the fence between Addicted offroad sliders and the Stubbs sliders. Not to throw a wrench in the system but you should also look at the Addicted Sliders.....they use square inner tubing which is BEEF. The final factor in me choosing Stubbs was the fact that he makes sliders for the newer Tacoma's and my wheeling buddies got a small group buy together and ordered 10 sets from Richard all at once, giving us a nice break on price.

The DOM Savage sliders are about the same price as the CREW Stubbs.

I got a set of 4x and love them. I haven't beat on them much, but they repel door dings like no other!
