Sliders Purchase... Need Opinions!! Addicted Offroad VS Shrockworks

Hello all. I'm looking at Addicted Offroad and Shrockworks for sliders. I've done some pretty extensive research but I still can't decide. I'd like some opinions on both- what you like, what you don't like, coverage, kickout, application.

These are the things I like about both:
Bolt on
Solid construction
Reputable companies

My Thoughts on Shrockworks:
I like that the sliders are tight to the body.
No kickout
Black PC or bare steel (other options avail?)

My thoughts on Addicted Offroad:
Kickout
I got rid of the running boards because they stuck out too far,,, how far do these stick out? The pics make it look like it's pretty far.
No options listed for PC color prefs/Pricing for PC

What are your thoughts on these two? Which do you have? Do you like their performance? Any issues with either?

I only know this, cause they just made some for the 3rd gen while I was down there for the bumper. didn't get them due to funds.

just food for thought. and certainly not bad talking anybody else. just thought I would share another option for you.

they are weld on though.

I got rid of the running boards because they stuck out too far,,, how far do these stick out? The pics make it look like it's pretty far.

Thats the point of sliders, THEY SHOULD STICK OUT! They keep rocks off your truck, but if your looking for a piece of pipe just for looks then do that...

ADDICTED OFF-ROAD! Even though I don't have them YET, I will be getting some at some point in the future. My favorite by far and they seem like an awesome, reputable company that we should support and help get them into the market like some of the rest of these companies on here! Call them and talk to them, you'll be convinced to buy. Nice guys! Plus they are the perfect size, most others and either too long or too short (In my opinion and in theirs) while some may disagree with me talk to the guys @ addicted and they'll explain it to you.

Depends on the wheeling you plan on doing, but they honestly should hang out farther than any part of the body, besides the mirror obviously

yep, and they should really be welded. When they are just bolted on, if you come down on a rock they are going to flex and still bang up your rocker panels.

+2 for the stubbs HD-SKO's. they are awesome. Plus they mount to the frame in 4 spots instead of only 3.

as I have never had sliders, I was with you. I liked them tucked in more for looks and still have the protections. nothing like getting you pants all dirty when you get in your rig.

but as I have read more and more. you do need them to stick out a little bit. CBI made there stick out as far as the fenders and such so they were clean but still stuck out. took me some time to visualize and really never liked them out that far.
now they had a Jeep in there shop too and they were tucked in and looked good. but not sure how well they would protect the door.

and as for weld on or bolt. I wanted bolt on incase I have to remove them or something. but as I thought about it if I ever sell this rig or total in I will just want new ones. so i decided I would rather want weld on for the fact I dont want any flexing of the frame on a hard hit.

CBI's also have the 4 post support and I like that Idea too.

I know it all comes down to YOU and what you want. setting our rigs up how we want them is hard with all the options out there for sure.

i hear the bending up, I have dents in my rocker panels from mine flexing. I was running 3 legs with gussets and scab plates. I had to add a fourth leg where the kick out is to help with flex.

You will get mud on you legs from the sliders. Im just saying why would you put sliders on that only kind of work.

All of my sliders are weld-on. We really do not like bolt-on sliders.

The sliders we build specifically for 3rd gens are .188 wall 2x2" legs and main tube. The outer tube is still .120 wall. You should not have any deflection with my sliders if they are installed correctly.

They really do not stick out as far as most of the others on the market either. These angles shows it better

I've seen a lot of people being turned off from sliders because there aren't many companies that provide bolt on sliders these days. Don't limit yourself just because you want bolt on, welding sliders can be done very easily and don't take much time at all.

Of the companies you listed there is also a few others you should look at.
Savage Sliders
CBI Sliders
Stubbs Sliders

Shrockworks and Addicted are very well known companies and provide good products as well, but keep your options open. Be sure to keep an eye on length when looking. 68" is probably the longest you'll find which offers full protection, and 63" being the shortest offered with some companies.

That's not really his opinion...it's commonly known.

If you're gonna go so far as to install sliders for the protection, wouldn't you want to do it right? Would you put a condom only on the tip because, well, that's where the stuff comes out?

so when one does decide on sliders. do you powder coat? or is that a moot point cause once there rockin. they will have scratches.

dont powder coat them if you plan on using them. It will completely scratch off. spray paint is the only way. that way after a season of wheeling you can touch them up if desired

Some people powder coat because it is more durable in the beginning, however you will scratch through it and then trying to touch up will never blend. I spray paint mine and every couple months take a foam sanding block to knock the edges of the scarring down and then repaint.
