so is this actually possible?? kinda stupid but i had to ask.

so i just got my suspension lift done, its 2.50 in the front and about 1.5 in the back. im happy with the lift but not totally satisfied you cant really tell its lifted much so i was thinking about adding revtek spacer 3" lift kit... now that would equal to about 5.5" in the front and about 4.4" in the back. now the question is, what mod would i need to do other that drop the diff an inch or more and extend the brake lines? will i have to change the front axles or modify anything in the driveshaft or anything major??? this iidea just came to my mind so if its possible without any major mods i think ill do it.

i dont want to do a body lift because its useless for offroading im not doing it for looks. i actually want the whole clearance of the truck to be higher

5.5 inches of suspension lift in the front is not physically possible. You should not go above 3 inches of lift unless you like replacing CV boots. You also should never combine to forms of lift like lift spacers and lift coils

Do it right the 1st time

if your gunna do offroading..I wouldnt recommend spacers. if you flex alot while off roading its gunna kill ur suspension as in premature sag the coils even faster. and the ride gets alot harsher over time with the spacers.

if ya think about it. the coils are already compressed with the spacer, if you flex..thats just compressing it beyond what its suppose to do. that means faster sagging and stiffer ride all around. the ride i have right now is with a 2.5'' spacer and its so harsh and bumpy i'm upgrading to a bigger taller coil .

I agree with all of the above statements.

Some of us have pushed slightly over the 3" mark in front and have 4"-5" in back. Not only will you be pushing your CVs with more front lift but also reducing the amount of wheel droop. You can't use longer front shocks because you will overextend the CVs and they can actually pull apart.

To get 4"-5" or more in back you can go with 8 or 9 wrap LC coils or OME 861 or 851 coils.

If you plan on running a 33" tire or more, you will need to do a body lift too.

i think ill just leave it with the lift i have now. i dont want to mess with the whole cvs and axles stuff.. plus i guess the shocks i got arent that bad. they're the rancho 9000xl with myride control which is damn awesome. but they only give 2.5 inches. maybe what i need is bigger tires to make it look bigger.

A 1" body lift will do better offroad for you than extending the suspension down and using up all your downtravel. A suspension is engineered to have equal (or close to) droop and compression...This will help with keeping 4 tires on the ground at all times. Maxing out a suspension will also result in a stiffer "effective" spring rate, which is only good if you're racing as fast as possible through the desert.

You'll also not put nearly as much stress on all of your suspension components (tie rods, ball joints, etc). Using a 1"-2" body lift will also allow you to run a larger tire and give you the extra ground clearence. Not to mention the body lift keeps your COG lower than raising your entire frame, engine and transmission.

Now where do you feel that a 1" body lift is useless for offroading?

I'm planning on a ~3" OME setup and 1" Roger Brown body lift. About 4" over stock all around with additional lift from 33s over stock (another ~1.5") gives an overall 5.5" lift for fairly cheap.

So. Has there been an affordable swap option to create >3 inches up front? Or would one need a fab shop and a full tundra front end.

Thank you for attempting to answer my question, although I suppose I did not ask it in the right words. I was referring to what needed to be done to replace the cvs with something that would be more appropriate to... Say.. A 5" lift. After a short trip over to the total chaos site I answered my own question.

I need to hit the PA powerball tonight. :)

Solid axle or long travel. AKA at least 5g's. I'm not really comfortable paying 2x the price of my truck for that right now when my current suspension works well enough

rancho 9000xl and LC 8 wraps in the rear = 5inch lift and a damn nice ride
