So me and the 4runner made 2 months today :) **a lot of pics**

Aloha everybody!
I'm 17 and from the Big Island of Hawaii, and switched over from my racing scene to the off-roading scene. I purchased my 1999 4runner SR5 4WD 2 months ago. It came fully stock with 149,xxx miles and was shipped from Utah. I didnt post any pictures then because i kinda wanted to have some things done before i showed it. So far it has the 4" deckplate mod, removed running boards, 8K HID's (hi-low beam kit), 20% tint all around (needs to be darker), and alpine ipod deck. I ordered the front mud guards and am currently waiting on that to come in. My plans are to do the OME 3" lift on 285's. Basically, i plan to aim for a good hunting/fishing truck while keeping it a reliable daily driver on my college budget. Let me know what you guys think!

Then i put 8k HID's, took the running boards off and tinted her 20% (i want it darker, so i think i'm gonna put 5% over the 20)

I 2nd that question...I've been thinking about HID's for a while, but I'm hesitant on brand and color w/out hearing & seeing more successful stories...

didnt need to convert nothing. Since stock is already H4 bulbs i just bought a 8k hi/low beam plug-n-play kit. Install took me about 20 minutes all together.

When you ask night shots, do you mean shining on a wall? or pictures of them just shining? its night right now so i can go snap pics of what you guys want

Aloha Walter. Thats awesome! Kona is a really great place to live. Its a lot more sunny than Hilo, and trails are more rocky than Hilo. Since Hilo rains quite often, we get clay mud. Down south of the island is where the real trails are at.

No, so far never had complaints. I took those photos from my phone so it aint the best. I'll shoot some night shots tonight, but I dont really know what kind of angles you guys want from the HIDs.

The place where i went off roading is called Country Club. It used to be a golf course, so it has really clay mud. Its located off of the beginning of saddle road on the Hilo side. But of course, no Toyota will get stuck in there, not even with highway tires :cheers:
Unfortunately for my friends Jeep that went with me that day, he got stuck. hehe

Alright everyone, heres the pics i promised.

I installed the front mud flaps today!

I actually didnt edit this one, the sky was just like this after cutting grass. haha

Now for the HID shots..It may seem off angle, but thats cause my driveway has a slope

The high beam in my hid kit is halogen, so just in case the cops start hassling me, i switch it to high beam for the night

I think you are blinding other driver with your hid's. you shouldn't put them int a non-projector headlights, orthe non-hid housings. an anything darker than 20% tint is too much at night.

It may blind people, i dont know. I havent got flashed at all because my lights aim more down than straight into their faces. Did you look at the comparison pictures on the road?? Cant you see how much of the HID light is on MY side of the road?, not blastin all over the place. My friend down the street from me has a nice projector retrofit in his 4runner. Its an expensive mod, which is why i didnt work on it yet. But it will be done.


20% is my preference. It isnt dark at all, which is why i'm gonna redo with either 5% alone, or double 20% so it comes out to 10-15%. I dont like when people can see me driving, and i like that fact that after a hot day of working my runner stays cool in the sun, plus, no one can see what i have in my truck, and that'll hopefully reduce the chance of them breaking in.
