Someone just hit my rig!

Yeah I've got full coverage. And it unfortunately does seem like I'll be buying a new one soon. The frame seemed alright, didn't touch the skid, and I dint think the radiator got hit but idk. Just spoke with the insurance and they said that the adjuster will be calling Monday morning.

Try to file uninsured. collision claims count against you most of the time. and uninsured typically will not.

Wow, can't believe a hyundai did that. I'm not doubting you, just hard to think that car did it AND kept going.

This kind of crap pisses me off. I once lightly tapped someones car in a parking lot by accident like 15 years ago and stuck around till they got there and let them know. There was no damage other than a small scratch on their paint and they were cool with it. Still, I stuck around because its the right thing to do.
My wife and I bought a 2010 VW Golf Diesel 2 years ago and someone hit our front bumper and took off. There is not a lot of damage and nothing worth reporting but I can tell its there due to the small paint chip and the plastic deformation is visible from certain angles.
This really angers me as its our first brand new car we could afford and were very happy to finally get to that stage in life and some low life has to ruin it for us.

Damn man. Sorry to hear of your 4runner tragedy. I was sitting at a traffic light a few months ago and somebody coming the opposite lane wanted to turn into a business on my right side. He tried to make the left and squeeze between the car in front of me and myself and clipped my brush guard. I felt it clear as day but apparently he either didn't feel it or didn't care cause he just went along his merry way. I followed him into the parking lot and flipped out. He just stood there blank face. People are seriously re****ed!!!! :AK47:

Sucks man. Hate to say it, but that might be totaled. There's a lot of damage there and odds are your rear diff got f*cked up getting pushed up over the curb like that.

Exactly. We went everywhere within a 10-15 mile radius and found nothing. Can't believe it hasnt showed up. But the police and me and friends put it on facebook. And they alerted every garage andin body shoP. And the local junk and scrap yards.

Yeah I know it probably is. Only paid 4500 for it too. 96 with 200k and only 2wd. Was just saying I dont think it got my frame any.

updates!
#1 may have found the driver/car that hit my runner. would give you more details but the police said not to say anything til they can confirm.
#2 the adjuster came by and pretty much confirmed my fears that it would be totaled. it was the first time i had popped the hood and saw that the radiator support was gnarled up pretty well. the airbox is broken and the washer fluid tank is shot.
#3 i have been looking for another one. 4wd this time of course. found too great options. check them out.

That first one looks great. Known history, low miles, and all maint. up to date. Plus it has the locker. The handle can be fixed relatively cheap from what I've read, and you can recharge the AC yourself. Plus there is no rust from what the guy says. You could probably talk the guy down to at least $5k even.
Although the second one is cheaper, there seems to be a rust issue. The rear bumper has it, which could mean the frame does as well. There is also a dent in the front bumper. And it doesn't mention anything about maint. Plus there are more miles, and you'll have a harder time getting the price down with a dealer.
I'd go for number 1.

I agree, the first one is the better of the two IMO. I prefer buying older vehicles privately. I have nothing against dealers, my family actually owns a dealership. But when a dealer sends a car out for inspection, if it needs a tire, it only gets a tire. If it needs a shock, it gets a shock.
As cars get older, the private owners tend to take care of them and thus, they're still good vehicles. The ones that don't are the ones that they usually dump off as a trade in. How many people have you heard tell a story where they think they got over on a dealer trading it a POS?

The first one is nice, but where is it from? A rust-free vehicle from OH sounds a little suspect unless it came from a 'rust-free' part of the U.S. Just saying. Seeing it in person or seeing more detailed pics of the engine or bumpers (as cordjay1 notes) would help determine if that it is a rust free vehicle.
