And sp8ball: your 4R looks great. I wanted the Salsa Red myself, but couldn't get the tan interior, so I settled for black/tan. And this thread is great!! Always something new to check out, even if it is just the humor found here.

Don't do it, its a trap! Everyone knows the hamburger tray has a million and one uses and so it must clearly be better. Although party mode is pretty awesome. We should be able to have both, then it would be time for a PARTY!

Thanks! As you can see by the 25 pages of mods (well, 5 pages of mods and 20 pages of nonsense)...it's a work in progress.

You are welcome. The Red was pulled from another pic of your truck, and I agree, it's pretty blegh. The Silver is just a "chrome" gradient because as Antman pointed out in another thread... painting anything chrome just never looks right.

Well, one of my shift knobs arrived! The leather ball "TRD" one.

So, I crept out at 11:45 pm and installed in on the 4wd post. Looks great! (exactly like this)

Also have locked down the all-day modfest (and family cookout) with Antman for this Saturday. Should be some interesting pics/writeups by the end of the weekend!

Unfortunately, it's going to be a quiet couple of days. I have to (gasp) work and stuff.

But, Antman and I do have an all-day modfest and family BBQ planned for Saturday, complete with wife approval and readily mod-supplied (with all necessary mod-related parts). Should be awesome!

I also found out that he just did the "always on 12v outlet" mod in about 45 seconds (or 30 minutes, whatever), and was gracious enough to pick up a switch for mine as well. He's so nice!

And on Sunday, I'm meeting up with MuddyYota to get Satoshi Grille parts and black TE fog bezels. They'll be installed at the same time as my Putco jet yellow fogs (arrive next week). When? When I'm not fat.

On Monday, my Infinity Kappa Speakers should arrive.

And at some point in the future, my TRD main shift knob will arrive. At last glance, it had been to Malaysia, Bangkok, New Zealand, and Australia, and departed yesterday for the US of A. So who knows when it will get here.

Which color? I was thinking amber fog lights, but what if the light doesn't match my jet yellow Putco bulbs? Would it be safer/easier to just make them driving lights?

And why do they look purple and yellow?

The "protective cage" would be black, naturally. I'd be placing them in the lower grille area in an attempt to look awesome.

Bulbs were done quietly. But "legally". As long as I install a cool switch to go with them, she may buy into it!

I did the ATP pattern, it's a wider driving pattern but a whiter light than a fog. I figured I already had factory fogs that covered directly in front of the vehicle. If I want more light I need more light way out front, not 4 feet in front.

Those are "driving" lights then, correct? If so, do they come on with the headlights, or are they turned on by an independent switch?

Excellent question! I don't think she'll be involved in any of the interior LED or door handle stuff we're doing this weekend.

Maybe I'll talk her into doing:

(a) the "always on 12V outlet" mod this Saturday, or
(b) the Infinity Kappa speaker install next week, or
(c) an exhaust tip.

The PIAA 520's are way to big to fit in the lower grill . The lens alone is 6 1/4 " and with the lower mount and grill on is close to 8" . That's what she said!

The 510's are as big a round as you can fit in the lower grill and they have several reflector types available. If your putting yellow fog bulbs in the oem fogs then you shouldn't need another set of fogs unless your moving to San Fran. I've only used my PIAA's twice for actual foggy conditions in over a year.

Any lights other the fog lights(driving lights) up front should be treated as high beams and can be wired to be triggered by your high beam switch.

Here's PIAA's website and they have all the info you should ever need on different lights ..... PIAA

ALL DAY MOD PARTY & FAMILY BBQ A HUGE SUCCESS​

So, we did it!

Antman and I spent a good 6 hours in his garage, once again ignoring his truck and working solely on mine (which I'm starting to feel bad about). Then we took a break, during which time i went home and got Mrs. Sp8ball and the baby while the Antman family prepped some food for an afternoon cookout. The wives got to meet, and everyone hit it off smashingly!

As for the mods themselves?

- Interior Door Handle LEDs? CHECK!
- Color-Matched Door Handles? CHECK!
- Cupholder LEDs? CHECK!
- New Shifter Boot? (since I had the shifter console apart for the cupholder LEDs) CHECK!

We learned how to take door panels off...and did it over, and over, and over again. (tweaking things, discovering that gaps - like along the front edge in the picture, below, of the interior door handle LED - didn't belong there and fixing them) We got more efficient. We used lots of solder. Antman tried to blind himself with hot lead. Sp8ball chugged a 5-Hour-Energy at 9am and used up an entire, fully charged camera battery taking pictures. And I had to listen to you-know-who brag about his incoming Gobi rack and ladder.:50cal:
