Excellent question! I did think about that approach...after I did it with the other LEDs.

Looking at pages 121 and 122 of the Parts Manual that Harper7 posted, it looks like that's Part number 7 in the door assembly. I never noticed it before! In your drawing, it's broken out from the harness.

However, it's a $30 part, whereas my LEDs were $4 a piece. But the ones you found definitely provide the stock look. I wonder if it's plug-n-play...

You can use the part numbers from the afore-linked Parts Manual and look the part up from toyotapartsales.com. Great service, good reputation, good prices.

Thanks! I love this rack! The boat was my Dad's. who sadly passed in '09. It's a '96 Scout Sportfish that looks brand new. Fishing is my true passion- I try to get out at least once per week.

I have a black SR5, so you know where my chrome is. I want to get some black door handles, though. They stick out like a sore thumb to me. I like my doors to be all one color, like Sp8's are.

That and maybe the rails on top.

I'm just curious about the connector where it comes into the door panel. if its the same I dont think it should be a problem to swap out the harness..... hmmmmm.... this may lead to the mod bug!

Modification: Kappa Speaker InstallInstall Time: One Hour

Cons: Cutting of speaker covers, still trying to make them site right again.

Sp8ball & Mrs Sp8ball, regarding the speaker covers- If you take the cover off, and grab the black ring around the outside of the speaker, (as if you are taking a lid off a jar) and twist it slowly and firmly- the ring comes right off, and allows you to put the speaker covers back on without modification - at least it did for me.

Again, thanks for the great thread! My next install will be the backup camera mod... and tinting...

Perhaps now you're starting to see how popular this thread has become. The only concession we had to make is that we had to do the mod in a way that the timing didn't interfere with the taping of Oprah's final shows.

That was easy, since the rack didn't arrive until after filming ended, and well...it's Oprah.
