Sport hood and Flares.

I found a nice set of sport flares and a sport hood for sale in craigslist, my question is how much should I pay for these? also I will need to paint them (they are not the correct colours)

If you want to know what to offer, why not call a dealer and ask what OEM costs, then offer 50%? 40% if you want to low ball and take a chance on it. :banana:

Which sport flares? The black plastic '99 flares or the wider, body color '00-'02 flares. If '99 style if say about $400 for the package. If the later style, I'd say probably $600 ish.

Just as a tangent, are the '99 black and the newer color matched interchangeable? Like if I have a '99, can I get the color matched from a later truck?

EDIT: I did a search so I wouldn't get flamed... looks like I can with some minor modifications (mostly drilling some extra holes)?

Well he is asking 350$ for the hood and 350$ for the flares.
And yes they are the later style painted flares.

This is correct!

The 99 "Highlander" flares are the same as the 96-00 SR5 flares that SOME of them got....ie, the Medium thickness, black textured flares; like this:

Starting in 2000, Toyota began offering the SR5 Painted flares which were the same thickness as the Limited, but didn't have the silly cladding. These flares require drilling and/or cutting your fenders to accommodate the clips that retain them; Like this:

Keep in mind that the limited flares are molded to wrap around the lower cladding on the doors. If you were to switch, you would have to remove that cladding and I believe that it would leave some holes. Not 100% on that, but pretty sure.

That is correct. The cladding is attached to the flare on the rear door, and the cladding continues to the front door. If you remove it, you will have 10 or so square holes per door exposed by the missing cladding.

Some '00-'02 SR5 and SR5 Sport models had them. Ergo why they are nearly impossible to find, and EVERYONE wants them.

Here's a pic of my family's 4Runners (Dad, sister, me). My sister's '02 SR5 in the middle has silver painted flares. Sorry it's harder to see them here, I don't have a better picture on hand.

I told her how hard to find they are and that she'd better not break them.
