SR5 L4 vs SR5 V6 trim comparison

Spotted the first 4cyl at the local dealer this morning. I said it before and a concur with my preference now seeing it in the flesh that the 4cylinder's 'trail' bumpers (with more color coding), color coded door handles, black grill, black fender flares and mudflaps look just right for an SR5.

Whoever said larger cars arent necessarily safer, yeh buddy. I wouldnt want to have a head on with a 4Runner in my convertible, you can see how this would turn out...

I can't imagine anyone buying the I4 -- it must have no low-end torque for the weight of this vehicle. I still would have rather had a V8 in the 4Runner...but the V6 will do. It's nothing like the 5.7, though...

How so? Do you think the current SR5 is 'over-dressed'? Shy of the badge & rims there almost no way to tell a V6 SR5 & LE apart from a distance. Would you want the SR5 to look cheaper?

Yes, like I said, just a personal preference. Those few trim differences make it look more rugged and offroad ready. I am not a fan of the chrome trim strips, door handles and roof rails, and I prefer the (slightly) shallower bumpers. Now on a Limited all bling is kind of accepted with its a more street orientated look.

Horses for courses, but would be nice of you could option it either way to your preference.

I really like the 2wd's look~ I wish for 2011 Toyota would take the XREAS suspension from the Limited, the scooped hood from the Trail and the bumpers from the 2wd and call it the Sport/ Urban Runner!

Well, that's what the Trail is for though, not the SR5 or LE. The Trail shares almost exactly the same bumpers as the v4 (minus the color match). If you want the rugged look get the rugged edition. The only thing that held me back from the Trail was the no leather & black plastic (owned one with the black, it never stays as nice as when new and appears 'cheap'.) Nothing wrong with having a nice looking but also very capable offroad 4R, is there? The crome seems to go either way for people, personally I like it on the 4R, anymore would have been overkill though, but it does not look bad. I know others feel the oposite, which is fine too

i tend to agree, i like the way my black sr5 looks but im also thinking about de-chroming at some point in the near future... luckily, doodman has a nice write-up on how to do just that!

I like the lines of the Canadian SR5 myself! As for the the running boards? They gotta go! :thumb3:

The TE didn't come in white, so it wasn't an option for me. White was a requirement from the wife when I was negotiating that we should get a T4R.

I think the chrome is better than painted black....but I think if they really wanted to make it look nice they would have color matched the handles.
