SRQ-Runner Build Thread

Found this in the teachers lot at my school today. Love the color! Looks to be all stock and in need of a paint job. I wouldn't mind taking those front mud flaps off his hands though.

Since I took off my flares and running boards, I get so many rocks flung up hitting the sides. I may just buy a Walmart floor mat and make some ghetto mud flaps haha.

That is one nice AC. Nice clear water is where they belong. That pic makes my Monday. As much as I like my automobiles, boats take precedent.

Good luck with the tutorial. My brother has been fishing for longer than you have been kicking and he still cannot use a casting reel nor throw a cast net.

I'm jealous of you guys that get to fish out in the ocean. There's something about it that makes it a lot more fun/entertaining for me rather than fishing the rivers and creeks up here. That's a very nice boat you've got there. I like the flag!

Check on ebay. I've got an 01 with the big color matched SR5 flares and I picked up a set of universal mudflaps on ebay for $22 shipped. I trimmed them to fit the flares just right and they look OEM now. I still get some mud slung up on the side, but the flaps stop most of it.

I love it, have had nothing but great experiences with it... well besides when I forget to fill the oil tank. Oops. Almost up to 1000 hours and still running strong. Got to love a good ole Optimax.

My dads friend actually makes those flag poles. They are designed to fit into any boat rod holder. Made from PVC piping and a strong plastic like pole. Have run 60 mph with it in that rod holder and it doesn't even budge. It's a great product!

I've been on the look out for some flaps but haven't found any that I like. Someone was selling a OEM set on ebay for what I felt was a ridiculous amount. I went ahead and sent him a lower offer, but was denied. Guess I'm still on the search.

Just ordered 4 LED strips, along with blue LED toggle switches. Plan on using two of them for foot well lighting, but have not decided on placement for the other two yet. Total cost was $19 including 25 feet of black/red wire. Everything should be at my door on Thursday, got to love Amazon Prime!

Just finished up my LED footwell lighting, took about 2 hours to wire everything up. Just have it running to a switch for now, but may connect it to the doors in the future.

^^ That wire has since been tucked under the console. It still is bothering me, even though I know I fixed it.

A family friend has started a new boat company and I decided to put one of his decals on the T4R today.

And here's a picture of me riding in hull number one. Deck was not on the boat yet, and we were just testing the hull and getting a feel for top speed. You can see more pictures of the boat on either Instagram or Facebook if you search Barker Boatworks. First boat should be completed by mid February.

Have been looking at some new rims, but in order to get them I would need to unload the ones I currently have. They are in great shape with some minor scratching, never really used off-road. Would even plasti dip them black if the buyer wanted them black. They are the upgraded rims you could get with the base model from the factory, 15"x 8" I believe. What do y'all think I could get for them?

I actually like your rims Matt. You don't see those very often and they look to be in good condition. $250 on a very good day IMHO.

Got any more pics of the boat? Going to a boat show myself in Charleston, SC this weekend. It amazed me last year how much chrome and bling new boats had. I guess it is an appeal to the ladies. Good luck on any of it lasting on salt water in salt air past five years.

Thank you for your opinions. I most likely will stay with them for now, just was interested in what I could get for them if I do end up selling them.
Here are a few more pictures of the boat with the deck laid on. They are laying the fiberglass for the center console this week and should be on in a few days. As of yesterday they also had the trim tabs installed along with two 10 foot power poles and the gas tank. Moving a long quickly..

It looks like it is coming together quite well. I guess he won't be ready by the 12th for the Miami Boat Show. I would like to get down there for the show, but it may not be in the budget.

When there is a full rig put together, post a pic or two.

He plans on having a completed boat for the show, let's hope he makes it. I'll be down there for at least one day., it's a great show. Let me know if you make it down.

Hey I see you are looking for wheels. I would recommend looking up Mr. B because he has the same color combo as you and has an awesome setup. He has the polished wheels which is what I say you should go with IMO.

I was looking at the pro comps 15" but in the matte black finish. Only way I could afford new ones would be if I sold the ones I have now though.

Yeah that would probably look pretty good. I have the 1069's 16x8 and they cost me just under $500. I still have my original wheels and am having a hard time finding a buyer. Are you selling the tires as well?

Right now I'm keeping the rims and tires I have. May get some new rims down the road though. Have some other stuff in mind for the T4R.

Well I guess in the mean time you can drool over these

This pretty much fits your current stance (username: jwillo7)

I was looking at the rims in the first picture, found them for $92 a piece. One of my friends has them on his jeep and they look really nice. Those would probably be what I would get if I were to purchase a set right now.
