Well tag me anyway. I tend to miss events and dates a lot! I may not see when the dates have been set, even with notifications. I'm internet/social media inept sometimes. HAHA

Are you not mounting the seats to the cage? Usually that's ideal so there's no way the seats can get away from the cage since that's your lifeline. And if you're not mounting it to the cage, are you doing the fabrication yourself to mount the seats straight to the chassis?

JV is a total free for all where you want to go. It hosts 50k people for KOH, I'm sure you'll find a big enough area to camp lol

Yeah, not too worried about space, haha. Funny thing is I'm out in Joshua Tree all the time, but I just haven't made the trek out to JV.

I have those exact wheels and same size tires. Be sure to get the 0 offset 17x8 wheels or they will not work. By "will not work" I mean that you will not be able to do anything to keep them from rubbing. No amount of cutting will help you as the tires will hit the front frame. You still have to cut the body mount and get a body lift to eliminate rubbing and pound some offending metal near the door jamb flat.

Just Curious - why would the Pioneer head unit be wired into the harness in the back near the factory JBL sub?

Saw it while tearing out the cargo area and had to ask.

I’m going to try and keep the head unit as I can turn camera view on full time, which may come in handy for a camera on the front bumper when we’re strapped in and can’t see over the hood.

LONG travel or MID travel? If the tire is not completely outside of the body it will rub on the door jamb area. There is no way to stop this unless the entire front of the truck is altered. Too far out of the fender area and the tires rub on the door jamb, too far in and they rub on the frame. I want to see someone with a 4th gen with long travel and no rubbing who did not remove the entire front of the truck... show me one.

I've never been to JV but I know there's some awesome crawling to be done out there in the Cougar Buttes area that I really want to check out this winter. Didn't get the chance this past winter/spring due to rig and medical issues and preplanned trips.

Yes, the mounts will be integrated into the cage when it is built. The tie into the frame is required by KOH rules and the cage is the best way to do this.

"3) All seats must be securely mounted to frame of vehicle and mounts must be properly reinforced to keep seat from moving in relationship to the frame.
4) Adjustable track-type seat mounts must be securely mounted to frame of vehicle to allow no lateral or vertical movement between seat and frame or mounting track and frame."

A friend of Wyatt Scott - owner of RockSolidToys - will likely be doing the cage for us at the very end.

This ^^^ 3.5" exactly. Spindle will be moved forward. Fiberglass fenders.

3rd Gen 4Runners are 110 ohm empty to 3 ohms full, I'm just guessing the 4th gens are at least close to that.

Thanks - very helpful! Time to do a search for 10" height fuel senders that are close to 100 ohm E, 0 ohm F!

Question: For the Doug Thorley Headers, I want to keep catalytic converters. Are most keeping the stock cats or are they upgrading to high-flow cats (like Magnaflow)?

Quick update:
- First, I was wrong! I installed the ABS Kill Switch and drove all this past week - I thought the 4.7L was fast before. With ABS off, it's a whole new beast.

You all were right! We will be running KOH with ABS Off. I still like the switch so I can have ABS on when I drive to CA in mid-Sept, but once it's in CA, it'll be off full time!

- Salvage parts have started to arrive and the remainder should be here this week (Liftgate will be gutted - glass, motors, electrical, etc will be sold):

- PRP seats are here. These will be installed on temp brackets as soon as this weekend for the drive to CA and integrated into the roll-cage in CA:

- Fuel cell, mount, filler, pump, filters, Alltech baffles etc will all be here this week and I hope to have rough mounting done this coming weekend. Only thing I lack here is the AN fittings and hoses.

- Master Kill Switch from Painless should also be here this week and installed this coming weekend.

- URD MAF Calibrator will be here on Friday and will be installed this coming weekend along with gauges.

- Cooper STT Pros and KMC Enduro Beadlock wheels have all been received and are stored at Marlin Crawler's shops in CA. I'll hopefully have some pics to post soon.
