Stolen catalytic converter from 91, can I run a strait pipe and pass inspection?

Some rat cut out my catalytic converter, being that I live in Texas and the rig is more then 20 years old (1991),can I run a strait pipe and still pass inspection? Thanks.

Probably will need to check your local inspection laws, google is your friend there. As a point of reference, here in Utah you have to not have a check engine light (which you probably do, missing the downstream O2 sensor right?), you have to pass emissions (which you may fail without a cat), and there's also a visual check you have to pass.

This is divisive issue, but I feel like if the law says run a cat, run a cat. If you can legally drive without it, then it's up to you, but I wouldn't.

I ran a straight pipe on my 2nd Gen 22RE, no issues whatsoever, no check engine light.

it's possible. a lot our vehicals burn clean enough that it will pass.
make sure your at operating temp before you go, and it don't hurt to "get on it" a little to clean out any extra carbon from the engine on the way there

I know you can't pass in oregon because we test all vehicles newer than '74. I know this varies a lot from state to state though. Good luck.

In most states, you have to pass emissions test and VISUAL inspection to make sure the stock equipment is still there and in decent shape.
Just go to a smog shop in your state and ask some questions before wasting your time and money on a test doomed to fail

If u have O2 sensors before and after the cat, no way will it pass, and it won't run great either.
