Stuck rear hatch door

Yesterday my son shut the rear hatch on a plastic pants coat hanger. Now hatch is jammed shut. He tried to pull coat hanger out and the part with the metal slide on it broke off. It is stuck. This was at bottom on hatch.
I am at a loss as to how to get this out.
The door latch handle will squeeze as if it is unlatching but will not release.
Help!!! Please!!

Have your tried squeezing the handle and holding it, pressing the hatch closed firmly as you squeeze, then lifting it open?

Try holding the back hatch handle in the closed position (forward) and then, at the same time, unlock the back hatch (two clicks on the unlock button on the fob. Then open.

So far still stuck shut. Tried the pushing idea. No luck. As of right now have not tried the key fob unlocking as my key fob needs to be recoded. Doing that tonight.

Try prying on the handle so it snaps back into regular possition then if you get it open blast it with pb blaster

Don't have to use the fob....can use the inside unlock button on the arm rest.....just need to hit it twice in quick succession while holding the hatch handle forwards.....need two people....
