Stupid Clock

Nice info on the clock. Fixed mine once already. Tried a second time. Think its dead. Going to swap it out with a couple I got at the yard.

I finally have a working clock! Took too much effort and energy but it works. Thanks again to nissanh for sending me a working one. For those interested the white/black ground wire was not working so I would blow out the clock as soon as it went in. You can see on the two displays the burn mark in almost the same place. One is my original clock which no amount of my crappy soldering was going to fix and the other is a used one I put in last week

I've fixed numerous clocks and they've all had those black stains. Can't explain it but they all worked when it was all said and done.

I keep trying to think up some clever idea to replace both the clock and the in-dash cup holder with some sort of gadget mod. So far I've got nothing... Anyone had any thoughts? I mean the clock just isn't necessary (even if it still works) and the cup holder is abysmal.

I am also looking for some gauge/gadget mod to replace the clock. Mine doesn't work and I was hoping to find a good compass or thermometer or something to fill the spot. Anyone have any ideas as to what could be done with the clock space?

I had to fix the clock in our 96. Soda goo and resolder everything.

Bought my '96 new in May, 1996. Clock is still perfectly accurate. This has been the most trouble free vehicle I've ever owned. Everything still works and it still looks and runs like new. Other than wear items, I've only replaced the antenna and the AC evaporator in 21 years.

I have a '96 and mine died a few years ago.. Back then I didn't know about these forums, or the possible fixes.. So I just hacked up the original housing and installed a dual USB charger there..
