Sub in Cubby

Has anyone built some type of sub box to fit in the rear cubby without having to cut it up?
I have a cardboard mock up that I have been working on and it appears I can get about .3ft^3 sealed which is enough for an 8" JL 8W3v3-4.
Not thrilled about it not being dual voice coil or at least 2 ohm but not much to work with in that small of space.
Anyway, just wanted to see if someone had already gone this route before I hit the wood building stage. (no fiberglass skills here) It's going to have some funky angles. And that cross bar makes it a real pain to design, but I will be able to remove it with no damage to the vehicle except for a couple of small screw holes.

Just wondering if the sound output would be OK from that small of an enclosure. I have used an 8" JL in a small truck box but that was right behind the seat in a Jeep. Much bigger cabin in the Toy and a lot further away.

I had a DC Sound off Sunset in Henderson build one for me. This is the final product. They attempted to use the plastic surround in the cubby as the box. I played around for a while tweaking the sound and stuffing foam and dynamat all around the rear of the truck. In the end it worked, but it was lacking in range. I needed at least a 10" and ended up just getting a low profile boxed unit until I can afford to have DC build me a custom box/drawer system for the back.

I'll make you a great deal on my 8" sub. Its fiberglassed to fit around all the curves in the rear. :guitar3:
