So i was about to buy the urd 7th ecu/fuel pump/2.2 pulley and came across texas aces water/meth review. He says he had the 2.1 pulley and the water/meth with the 7th and ended up zeroing out the urd mapping so it was doing nothing. he hasn't been in yotatech since September so i can't really go ask him. does anyone else have any input. He had a ton of pluses vs the urd system only negative was having to refill the bottle.
Any input? Searched through the forums havent found anything new that talks about it

If your running any type of meth injection you will want the ecu to tune period, along with a wbo2. Boost and meth injection will change AFR drastically and just because in his situation he ended up zeroing it out doesn't mean your situation will be the same. Altitude, temp, and engine condition will change how your tune will end up.

IMO I would look at this thread, its a very good tuning option.

IMO it really just depends on how in depth you want to get with tuning. The URD kit is great because for 90% of the users, it's a simple install and easy to complete. Obviously you will have to do some tuning, but you will have a base map and can ask Gadget for a map to work better with the 2.2. The other options are more tuning intensive and you will have to tinker more. They produce great results and sometimes better than URD, but it will take a more involved and knowledgable person to get just right.

I was looking at the devils own stage 2 kit with a 4gpm tip. I do have the urd 6 ecu. Wonder if i use that for tuning along with the devils meth?

Meth with give you a rich tune, I believe you could tune it out as long as meth is always hitting at WOT. You wouldnt really need more fuel with the meth being injected.

Guess i should have been more clear. I have the 6 ecu but stock injectors. The supercharger came with that and 90% of the 7th system. Only think I'm missing is the 7th ecu and fuel pump. I'm wondering if instead of cutoff those just use the 6tg to be able to tune with and buy the meth kit.

No I understand. Since the meth will add more fuel you might get away with the stock pump and injectors. Meth injection will drastically lower injector duty cycles once you lean the AFR out when meth is hitting.

Great to hear but I emailed Gadget and asked for that map and he said the stock one will work fine so I guess I'm confused here. I have the 2.2 pulley arriving Monday and would like to do as little tuning as possible. Anyone have the stock map for the 2.2 pulley they can email me?

Also to the OP. The 7th ECU (AIC) is more like 70% of the 7th kit and costs ~$450 from URD.

Careful about what you read on his posts. I messaged him back and forth for a bit as I was learning about methanol injection and the possibilities of a supercharger but the more I posted he gave some iffy advice. For example, he ran 100% methanol, which is not recommended by any of the injector kit manufacturers. Also, the "cheap kit" has some notable flaws so don't get that route, get a real, professional kit. AEM and Coolingmist have some of the better ones. You'll also want a progressive controller, not just an on/off controller.

+1

The "cheap kit" he recommends doesn't even go together properly. Ask me how I know. Hell, he never even built the kit in his own write-up, so how would he know?

If you want an actual write-up on water/methanol injection, go here: http://www.turbomirage.com/water.html

Could have swore he had one. I'm not a big fan of Gadget or his customer service though. I have the 2.2 map A.Wilson013 gave me but it's on my work computer. I can get it Tuesday.

That would be great! I plan on installing it this weekend.
