There are probally less 4Runners on the lot compared to Taco & FJ due to the price difference and age market and maritial status each are geared toward. Plus the FJ is the hot thing right now and the versatility of the Taco's bed is a factor so pickups and lower priced suv's will move quicker off the lot. I'm sure they probally sell more Tundra's then they do Sequoia's.

As far as the S/C goes, say you bought a V6, then later you bought a 23' boat and want more power to pull it up hills or whatever. Well you're not going to go out and buy a V8 engine, harness & ECU to swap out or trade in your V6 and take a hit (well some might) when you can simply add the S/C and get more horsepower then the V8. Yes you will have to put atleast 91 octane in your truck now but if you have the money for the S/C then you probally have the .20 extra per gallon and if you are pulling a trailer then you would probally want to put 91 in anyways even with the V8. Plus some people just want to tell others that it has a S/C in it. I mean you are not going to be able to spin the tires anyways with the engine management, but it will take down that little Honda Civic with the annoying exhaust at the stop light, and you just grin as you watch the guys jaw drop in the rear view! For some it is just a matter or wanting one and others it is needing one.

Well put, sir! Couldn't have said it better myself...I'm sure Toyota has super-good reasons why they haven't launched the fit kit yet for the 4Runner, but let's just agree that some of us are keeping the faith!

Oh, absolutely. I see very few sequoia's on the road up here. It's largely truck country, but the SUV of choice for Toyota is the FJ and Highlander. I only wish it was the 4R.. but then again, it's kind of nice having something that not everyone else does!

Well, in all reality, if it was going to do a lot of trailer duty, I'd buy one the beefy V6 was more than capable of stock. If I needed/wanted a trailer bigger than it could handle, I'd likely buy a new truck for trailering duty OR maybe trade it in on a V8.

Someone who did that probably would lose some dough, but you're gonna be spending some dough putting an SC on it too.

But, your point is taken and is a fair one.

To those that eventually do (??) get a SC kit on the 4.0, I'd love to drive one.

Coming from the mouth of a Toyota TRD Rep at SEMA. Toyota will not be fitting the new 4L Supercharger to the 4runner...ever...with the thinking that if people want more power most would just opt for the 4.7L V8.

The 5th Gen needs to have a 5.7 though. 4.7 isn't THAT powerful.

Same thing here in California.

4Runners are very slow to move off the lots, and there are not nearly as many on the lot as the Tacoma's and FJ's.

I see Tacoma's everywhere, especially as work trucks in the construction and surveying industry.

By my count last time I was at the lot, the ratio of 4Runners to Taco's was about 1:4.

None of the lots within about 500 miles of me here in southern california had a black 4runner, let alone a black one with a V8 and 4WD. I had to have it shipped down to me. Te selection of 4runners are pretty slim. They keep most of them on their spare lots which are usually a mile or 2 away. One of the dealers had about 20 on an overflow lot but none were black.

No no no no - V6 plus supercharger specs out at 304hp and 334ft-lb vs. the 4.7L stock at 260/306...so, I still don't see the logic. Something funny must be up at Toyota...some other reason why they're being stubborn SOBs about it...seriously, it's just a fit kit...the hard part is done (i.e. the supercharger being made)...can't cost that much to develop and the HAVE to know that they'd sell more than a few of these...whatever...I'll just wait til the Hybrid Supra comes out and then I'll have all of the HP I want or need...
