Interesting remarks OP.
I've been reading this forum since 2010 and I cannot remember an instance of anyone reporting the failure of a Bilstein shock perch. It's such an easy, reliable, and cheap-ish way to improve ride/handling and gain some lift.
It happens very rarely, and when it does its almost always install error.
Some people dont realize that a lot of the 2.5, and even larger race shocks are held together internally with Cir-Clips.
If you still dont want to go that route, we carry OME shocks & spring sets, the Fox 2.0 coilover system with threaded shock body, Radlfo 2.0 etc. We also have the bigger 2.5" systems.
Also, check out the Rancho QuickLift shock, preset at 2"
