Sway-A-Way Tacoma vs 4Runner

hey, I've got a line on a set of NOS Sway-a-way racerunner coilovers but they appear to be for a Tacoma. They have the springs at the top and the threaded collar is at the bottom of the shock.

Will these work on my Runner?

If they fit a 1st gen Taco, then they fit any 3rd gen 4R. Nice find, are those 2.0" or 2.5" bodies?

2.0 bodies. I thought the Tacomas and 4Runners were swappable, but when I seen the collar on the bottom instead of the top I started wondering. Unfortunately the have no visible part numbers on them (aside from 14-650 on the springs) but a Google search turned up a couple pair for sale on TTORA from back in '06. One add says they are off his '99 Tacoma.

yes they will work , but its just a different design, id rather prefer them on the bottom, much easier to adjust when they are on the truck. i wish mine were on the bottom.

I had that exact same coilover on my 4runner a couple of years ago. They had 600lb coils, but rode very well. They definitely got the job done, but I did have an issue with the top bushing falling apart and the shaft pulling the washer through it. It got fixed when I installed some new bushings, but I didn't keep them long enough to really figure out if it would happen again. If they are cheap enough, go for it!

They're not actually "for sale" they were offered to me by a friend who has had them in storage for years.

$150 for the pair?! They look almost new. That's a no brainer deal. Yes, they are the older style and only 2.0 bodies but they will work just fine for the 3rd gen.

No, those wont work for you... sorry dude... Looks like you probably should just give them to me or something, I mean. Uh.. Yea.. just sell them for like, $50, they're worthless... so Yea...
