Truth be told, I had intended on keeping it a long time. Then I realized I was putting barely any miles on it and the FR-S had come out. The underutilized 4Runner was taking up a garage spot. Then the family car was totaled a few years later, so I used that opportunity to get another 4Runner. I got a Trail Edition like I wanted in the first place.

Has anyone found their replacement headlamps less prone to the hazing? Are they indeed *better*? Did they fix the problem? Or do you just start over and get hazing again...?

Hey all, I'm not sure if this was mentioned in the thread somewhere or not, but Meguiars PlasticX polished out the hazing on our 2011 SR5 easily, I followed up with Blue Magic Headlight Sealer and they look like new.

Much better option for us than trying to get Toyota to replace them at 110k miles.

I just noticed this on our '15 LE on the drivers side...I was really surprised to see this already...Anyone else having this experience?

Mine are nearly snot yellow in most places. 2010 4runner not garage kept.

Dealer told me this TSB was a lie; "nobody knows how to keep clear plastic from hazing, the TSB lied, we aren't replacing your headlamps".

But that service manager has always been a complete idck.


So, paying out of pocket to replace my snot yellow lamps myself, is removing the front bumper relatively straightforward?

Brother man, give a headlight restoration kit a shot. Way cheaper than new headlights. And in my experience they work VERY well.

Agreed. It takes about 20 minutes, once a year, with my Flex polisher and some ultra fine polish.

Did anyone post a picture of the oxidation? Wanted to see exactly what to look out for. If I missed it Im sorry!!!
