I've seen the rig in person. I've run my hands over the welds, talked to the creator about the methodology, and witnessed both form and function exist together in one rig at the highest level that I believe they can in a 3rd gen that is still built more/less around the factory platform.
For added cool factor, the rig has been built in part with the old bones of his former 'Yotas. And if you think he's got access to the same tools as a full tilt fab shop, you'd be surprised. The guy is making it happen with a set of tools that most people here would call an "average" collection for an enthusiast.
Plus, if he wanted to put a solid axle up front he would. And he'd do it in about a month, but with some custom tweaks that would blow the doors off anything we've seen this year. Then it would be copied repeatedly, because it would be that good. Finally, to wrap it up, he'd run it up the nastiest sets of rocks available (that he hasn't already run) between California and Maine...with style.
Hands down, T4ROTY qualified.
