T4RNightHawk's Build Thread

I started out on this forum back in March before I was even driving learning to change the fluids on the "family" trip car. Since then I've caught the mod bug and have poured all my time and money into this thing ever since. I'm very thankful and fortunate that my dad is letting me do all this and take it to college, yet I still have to keep telling him all these mods are okay because I'll never sell it.

My cousin and his guns

Where'd you get those gunmetal headlights?! Those are beautiful! Is there anyway to change the side of it as well? (No chrome or reflective pieces?

I just painted them like most people do and I bet there is a way to but I broke a couple clips opening them and wasn't gonna break anymore doing that.

Those 5th gens are really growing on me. Gotta start saving my mod money. I wonder how the newer 4.0L compare to the 4.7s

Same at first I hated the look now I love the look. I thought the 4th gen V6's were a 4.0L. I wish they'd make the 5th gen in a V8.

Correct, but the 5th gens & 10+ FJC came with dual vvt engines. A bit more power than the tacoma and 4th gen T4Rs.

I read somewhere a while back that the reason Toyota dropped the V8 because Lexus 470 sales were declining. Can you imagine a 5.7L 5th gen

So is the dual VVT V6 more powerful than a 4th gen V6 or V8 because I know Land Rover dropped the V8 in favor of a supercharged V6 or something like that.

My thing is it's still a V6 and while they say it may produce the same power I'd much rather have that power in my engine itself rather than on top of it.

I know I've posted a lot today but I now have a backup radar system in my car. Apparently the PO had one installed that was turned off and wired poorly so I cleaned it up and now it works!

I got some Morimoto XSB led halo switchbacks on friday. In the process of installing them some kinda goo got on my lens and ruined them so that's some more money. Here are some pics. I'll have a write up coming once I finalize wiring.

My friends dad helped me put my rock sliders on this weekend. I have a lot of other stuff to update like my halos but I don't have the time right now.

4Runners looking sick man, Im up in Cherokee if you wanna meet up some time!

I think my friend and I are going wheeling this weekend if you wanna come. He's the jeep in my pics. Don't know where we'll go since Beasley is closed (and those are some pretty gnarly trails) I'll give you more info when I figure out where. Right now I'm thinking about heading up to Durhamtown but we might just hit some trails instead.

Got an aftermarket headlight casing to replace the lens on my OEM passenger side. It's all messed up after I tried restoring it so I figured I'd save myself more trouble and pay$60 for this.

Sweet rig so far.. I'm stationed in Dallas.. haven't rode in awhile due to some common issues and mishaps (hit a tree, took off a mirror. Hit a log, bent my axle in) well kinda common lol. And also just getting mud in places that's just not necessary like the connecters that meet to my fogs. Anywho one day we'll meet up, and do some wheeling. Once I get the 42" mounted up top it'll make me have to show my baby some dirt.

Sound good man. I want a 42" so bad. I stay away from bogs generally, mud gets places the engineers never meant for it too:biggrin1:.

Very true, and I'm so damn excited. I should really start a thread of my own.. kind of like a build thread but more for mods because I find myself spending all my time every weekend. The addiction is real.
