Tacotunes Feedback/Reviews?

Hi All,

I'm currently looking for a plug-and-play 4-channel amp to improve the sound of my speakers. Here are some details regarding my current system:

2006 Non-JBL 4Runner
AVN6600 Headunit
Focal front and rear components

The Focal speakers are nice, but severely underpowered by the headunit alone, which makes sense. That is why I'm looking to get a new 4-channel amp, but with the ease and convenience of a plug-and-play system. From my research, the Tacotune amp is the only PAP I could find (OEM Audio Plus makes a system, but they won't sell me an amp alone b/c they haven't tested it on a 4th gen...).

So my question is, does anyone have any experience with the Tacotune 4-channel amp and how it sounds/works?

i pass on that, and invest in a good 4 channel amp.
buy a roll of speed wire, its 9 conductor, so it has remote and 4 pairs of speaker wire.
2 2channel rca or 1 4 channel rca as long the connectors can reach the rca jack of the amp.
4 gauge ofc power wires. and some good quality ring terminals.

you can mount the amp under driver or pass seats.
there is also a ground bolt that you can use if you lift the carpet up a little, its where the front part of seat rail is mounted on.

with the speed wire, you undo the harness part of the radio, just replace the speaker leads with the speed wire. speed wire leads goes to the harness.
6 feet of rca length is long enough for amps under seats.

remember to cap off speaker leads on radio

I actually went with the Tacotunes 4 channel amp, and am in the process of installing Dynamat, Dynaliner, and the amp.

I'm a little nervous, I ordered a full system from them the other day and then started reading all the horrible reviews about their service. Doesn't help that they don't have any kind of order confirmation email. My money just went into a void and hopefully a sound system comes back.

That said, not enough time to say anything has passed and I'm willing to give them a fair shake. Just nervous.

I've been talking to Daniel from tacotunes and he has been very helpful. I'm going to visit them to get the full system installed next week. I'll let you know how it goes!

I currently have the OEM audio system in my T4R and I am interested in seeing if I can notice a difference / comparing the two.

Ah nice, good luck! That would be very interesting as there's a lot of posts about the OEM+ system but not many about the TT setup. I was planning to do a full write up when I get mine installed as it seems not many have a full system.

I went with TT because their lower level complete setup looked like a better value than the OEM+ one.

I think a lot of the negative reviews are mostly from people who don't understand that warehouse businesses are on a particular schedule for shipping items because of how freight shipping works vs. the paid commercial options via common carriers

I got my stuff last friday, I'm trying to setup the amp rack but it looks different from the one in the youtube video. Mine is serialised "ARTACO5-01" is that the same as yours? It only has two angled "legs" and the rest of the rack is flat. Is it just a new design or 4runner specific one?

Toyota dependability in my experience and that is why I bought car. Now after around 17 months and 45k here is the verdict.... Reliable..so far no major issues Comfort - little Performance - well underpowered but gets from point A to B Styling - beautify is in the eye of the beholder.
