Tax Season is COming!

So, if I get lucky and rake in ~$1200 again this season, what should I spend it on?
I have 126,000 miles
Waterpump/t-belt was replaced at 76k according to records i have, replace again at 150k?
Recently did oil, plugs, diff fluids, t-case
New battery
Newerish brakes, but I think i'm going to resurface them already
deckplate mod
Tires have like 12k on them

Things to spend money on:
-diff Breather mod
-Flush tranny? 26k since I purchased and has never been maintained by me, and I'm not sure on previous owner.
-Rear bumper is rusted
-Airaid intake/isr mod?
-Need a new radiator/external tranny cooler soon
-Spidertrax spacers look awesome
-OME 881/906?


Opinions? Suggestions?

If you must spend it on your 4Runner then I vote used supercharger!

Might as well get a new radiator or an external tranny cooler now. If you get a visit by the strawberry fairy, you'll wish you had. You don't have to worry about your timing belt water pump until 166K (recommended change is 90K miles).

Save it. You'll need it when the country realizes what kind of debt its actually in, and $1,200 refunds are a thing of the past. Or buy the 881/906 OME lift with wheel spacers....

Tranny cooler is like $60, no need to fret :tongue:

Steering rack bushings, check the upper and lower bj's

this was my biggest problem after the lift she was stearing me into traffic or a ditch, new bushings helped a ton. but I do have 250k so yah, whatever.

I was considering doing some preventative stuff on my front end before I lifted, but it seems to be fine and my truck doesn't have crazy mileage yet. Anyone else think I'm better off replacing the balljoints and steering rack bushings first?

New poly steering rack bushings made a huge improvement on my rig. I wish I would have done it right when I got my rig. I'm only @ 140k and the improvement was huge. PITA install though the parts are cheap.

Yep that's what I used. I also got the poly anti-sway bar bushing kit and installed at the same time. Made a good difference and the truck tracks much better and is safer. Plus I like driving it more now.

Just a warning, that is the single biggest PITA of any part install I have ever done. Worth it, though. That, along with tie-rod ends, endlinks, and sway-bar bushings have completely done away with my steering wheel vibrations.

I looked at and started to even take stuff apart but then said screw I'm getting an estimate for a shop to do this. Best $225 spent ever!

Also, the vibrations in my steering wheel are also gone. Feels like a new truck.

I just picked up a 2nd gen supercharger at lunch today too, should provide a new lease on the 4runners life!
