Telescoping Steering Wheel

I have an SR5 w/ a telescoping (leather wrapped) steering wheel WITH the audio controls...along w/ a moonroof and side curtain airbags -- other features not typically found on the SR5, but they are (or at least WERE), available. However they all may have been added as a options... my vehicle was a former showroom model. But be aware these features do exist in the SR5...

Yes, they all do except the Telescoping Steering wheel for the 04's on the SR5.

I checked the Brochure.

If the SR5 had a telescoping steering wheel/heated mirrors, I would be there.

I was looking at my brochures and there are 2 types for 03 models (e-brochure). The older one, as does the 03 print brochure, shows that the telescopic wheel is standard on SR5 models. The newer e-brochure (after they included AP on SR5/Sport models) shows that the telescopic wheel is not available on the SR5. But here's what's troubling me. I have one of the later build 2003's with AP and my SR5 has the telescopic wheel. The 04 brochures (both e-brochure and paper) show telescopic as not available.

Well my 04 LTD has one and while I had hoped I could telescope it all the way back to rear seats but, it only comes out about 2-3 inches. But what do you expect? That should be enough to set it and forget it and leave well enough alone...

I am 6'2" and have decent clearance when the seat is lowered, with the moonroof. But it's true that, without the moonroof, you get about 2" more.

I would have preferred my Limited without the moonroof but the dealers in my area only order Limited/moonroof combos, making it hard to find one without it. To be honest, I've grown to like it.

Oh, and the telescoping steering wheel has turned out to be useful since both me and my wife drive it, and we prefer different seat/mirror/wheel positions. If I were the only driver, I would simply set the wheel and never change it again.

Mine is a late build 03 with AP and has it.

I even went out to the truck to check. That's how much I have used the telescoping wheel.

I must have missed it....what's "AP"?

My '04 SR5 doesn't have the telescoping wheel. I wish it did

"AP" is the Appearance Package introduced during the 2003 model year. It's now standard on all SR5 and Sport models.
