The corn field and the mad farmer story

Yesterday I was out doing some sales (I sell copier systems) and I got lost (not real lost I do have GPS) anyway I was driving someware in New York state on some lite trafic old road in farm country so I decided it was time to turn around. I see this for sale sign and what looks like a dirt road to my left so I pull in and "I sank about a foot" ......... "O" S--t!! Im in 2wd. So I said maybe it's not so bad I put the runner in reverse and gave it a little gas and it sank some more!! I decided to skip right over 4high and put her in low I got on the gas in reverse and "S--t" im still stuck. Up in front of me is what looks like a mud and snow covered trail threw this corn field so I put her in drive got on the gas and away I go spinning and shooting mud threw this farmers corn field. Now I know I had to turn around somehow and I did not want to lose my forward motion and get stuck again so im trying to make a big turn.

Just then this old farmer in a house about maybe 75 yards comes out and is trucking threw the snow at me yelling and shaking his fist at me and here I am shirt and tie in the middle of god knows where tearing up this guys corn field. I push down on go pedal harder and I have a little momentum threw the "muc" im in the middle of my turn and this farmer is now about 25 yards from kicking my "A". Just then I got hold of some harder dirt and moved forward at a good pace I got to the road quickly put it in 4 high and got the heck out of there and never looked back.

The moral of the story watch where you turn around!

LOL Sounds like something that would happen to me. I have a little black cloud that follows me everywhere.

Send the guy an anonymous note explaining what happened and include a bottle of whiskey to make amends. You can imagine he thinks some kids were playing with him and he may have gotten your license plate number.

It's the least you could do. Tearing up someone's field isn't cool.

It would be just as easy and safe to make a 3 pt or more turn while staying on the road.

I agree it was not cool about the tear threw his field but it was a simple mistake ......... It was so strange just a little turn around would turn into this crazy mess that day. I think I'll let the farmer kool down and then drop off a bottle of Jim Beam this summer (in his mail box) with a little note but with no return address.

I can just be glad he did not run out with his shotgun and put a cap in my "A"

You may not want to wait until summer. If he did get your plate# you may soon find out how much it costs to repair a cornfield on top of the court fees and fines!
