Hi loved ones!
Whenever I make a substantial improvement to my truck (2012 limited) I always think of you! This happens because I really love to share it with the people that I care about and know will benefit from it's capabilities! The very last three times that tried to share my very own lighting modifications (which are still working better than expected, I got nailed to a cross, flogged, then tarred and feathered; ...and somebody even talked about my momma!

The last OPT7 HID low-beam mod that I performed and offered you, would have only cost you $33 bucks! It worked out so well that I think it's among my best electrical mod so far! I did do another lighting mod today though. Two days ago I noticed that my left PIAA foglight was out. I could see it from the reflection on the car directly in front of me. I was going to just stop at 'AutoZone' on my way home and pick one up, but I started thinkin' about using another OPT7 HID kit. Now my Aftermarket fogs sit on my bull-bar and so are a little different in terms of bulb access and wiring.
I went online, looked up H-3 HID kits and to my surprise I saw one with the H-3 bulbs, and it was only $30 bucks... being the shop-a-holic and opportunist that I am, I couldn't say no! Well they came last night so today I decided to install them; which came with it's own problems! The kit... 'TOP-NOTCH', nothing bad I can say about them; Here's a few pics I took opening the pkg:
The problem came when I began to match up the new parts with the PIAA housing. Once I clipped the new HID bulbs into the bezel, I realized that the new bulbs were longer than the ones that I was removing. Hmmmm! So now I was going to have to make provision for the longer bulb-electrode assembly! Skeptically, I bored a 7/8's (new) hole in the center of the 6 inch steel PIAA housing, plugged the original hole; which was off center nearer to the bottom of the housing and then I did the other one. I had to find a way to re-seal the steel bezel with a box of assorted rubber grommets that I have on hand for stock!
I snapped it all back together, apprehensively hit the switch; afraid that I may have damaged one (or both) of the new bulbs while trying to cut the holes large enough to make them fit through... but voila! It works!!!
...And this is what happens when someone cuts me off, gives me the finger and now I'm behind them!
Now here's where I usually start a photo gallery to show all of the steps from start to finish to make it easy for you to follow along. However: This is where the harassment usually starts! I'll bust my ass to provide you with the very best pictorial essays that I can possibly produce. I do it for you "Dear ones"! There's a lot of work that goes into all the research, the writing, taking pictures at every step of the way, editing, proving the work...etc!
Just ask [MENTION=65614]Antman[/MENTION], [MENTION=81322]barryhiram[/MENTION] or [MENTION=66316]1engineer[/MENTION] just how much labor goes into a well thought out, carefully detailed write-up! And then inevitably, someone wants to tear it and you down before it's even dark enough outside to take the conclusive night shots! So as a result, I won't be doing it that way; particularly with lighting mods! I'll be happy to share a great product that I've installed on my limited, but if I recommend it and it's less that $50-$60 bucks for everything including tax... you either try it or you don't; sorry to have to put it that way (none of this pertains to the majority of you BTW)!
But I'm not here to be anybody's door mat or spittoon. Listen... I loved doing my research for you. But here lately a certain person is actually following me around from one original thread to another, destroying the structure/flow of the writing, criticizing most of the work (any topic will do), and proclaiming to be some superior expert that I should stop my work and bow down to them... 'that'll never happen my friend!' To the rest of you, we're on the very same team so let's make the T4R.org better than ever, okay(?)!
