The PIAA 520 series foglight "HID Conversion"

Do you know the size specs for the lamp? I am looking for the measurement of the mounting flange (part with the notches) to the tip of the electrode (bulb end). Did you happen to measure it before drilling? Could not find it anywhere in their listing.

C'mon Rig- don't let it get you down!

Just this week alone I have received at least 10 PM's asking for help and of those less than half got what they needed and were never to be heard from again. Not even a reply, and some of the responses I researched and spent quite a bit of time on- kinda pisses ya off.

BUT- then you have most people that truly appreciate the help and let you know- that makes you feel great! Don't let the minority dictate your helpfulness! Some people are just "takers"- who cares?
Have fun and keep doing what you are doing- writeups are fun!

I just happened to run across this thread a little while ago where [MENTION=65614]Antman[/MENTION] gives me this 'Heart-felt' reality check and shares some his own personal struggles about ungrateful members PM'ing and pumping him for help and answers to their dilemmas, but after he rolls up his sleeves and gets involved, checks his notes and sources, then gives them exactly what they've requested of him... they're gone; not even a thanks for your time Jeff or... guess what, "I worked!!" (that's pretty disrespectful)!

I was starting to see a great deal of disrespect from some ass-holes (names will remain anonymous) who weren't even interested in being rational or having a great discussion on theory. They were only interested in tearing down some (IMHO) good information that our community can (and may already have) gotten some insight from. But Jeff (antman), and quite a few other highly active and respectable community members here set me straight and reminded me of how fulfilling it is to share and to help others problem solve...

Thanks so much Jeff; what you said and did for me will always be appreciated by me and I can't thank you enough (and that goes for the others too; they ALL know who they are... this is becoming one heck of a tech team! 'Best to you'!

Hi DEERUNNER, (sorry I missed this question)

No I don't! When I ordered the H-3 HID kit for aftermarket fog-lights, it was only because I noticed that I had a bulb out, so I just ordered the kit based on it being an H-3 bulb, and expecting a direct fit. The new HID bulbs latch in the very same way the halogen bulbs do but are about a 1/2 inch too long to close it up. That's when I parted company with the 'Plug-n-Play' idea and put on my thinking cap.

The hole in the center of the PIAA fog-light housing needed to be 7/8's of an inch for the bulb socket to be installed. I have a jar full of assorted rubber grommets which I was able to find two to seal the hole and protect the wiring. This was a lot of unexpected work to be hit with at that time cause I was losing daylight exponentially; that's why the pictures that I shot were all at night... I had just finished the install! You can do it, it's just not the normal plug & Play that we all love,

I still have not ordered, but this project is still on the list and I will get around to doing it. At that price I will do as you have done, something similar, or use them in some other way. As turn signals? haha Thanks for the info!

Thank you for your comments DEERUNNER. The great feedback and support I've gotten compels me to continue to be my own Guinea pig; trying things that I've never seen anyone else do here or anywhere else for that matter. That's how I got the inspiration for such threads as:
