update to any one that wants to do the rear brake set up that rockdawg84 did the same calipers as the mustang gt are the Mercury sable ls and gs rears might be cheaper way to get them if yall go with those compared to the gt calipers not sure if they are cheaper but worth a try

my bad man i gave yall some false info the piston and i think the pads are the same but the brackets that the piston flots on are different idk they my still work just have to try but they was about 20$ cheaper so might be worth a try for anyone

No worries. Since we have to build a custom mounting plate anyway shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks It has been a really fun build and continues to be.

A little update. the PO had put a battery in that was really small but it had been working so I didn't worry about it. but on Sunday I went wheeling and the battery gave out. fortunately i have a 5 speed and so a easy push start and I was good to go. Funds are tight so I replaced the battery with the correct series 24 size energizer Max from sams club for 85 bucks. The runner not only starts great but I think it actually runs better. and the battery hold down actually holds the battery tight. So nice. Not a great update but an update none the less.

Hey man finally got around to doing the disc conversion u did worked out good I did two brackets instead of one but I also mounted it on the back side of the rotor u made it look so easy lol there was alot of work put into that set up lol or I made it harder lol. My question is what master cylinder are using my pedal is just a Lil softer then what I like

Sorry I haven't been on in a while because my hard drive took a dump. LOL. It was some work for sure:becky: I haven't upgraded my master cylinder yet but I plan on doing it. I have gotten used to the soft pedel but will upgrade. I found a 1-1/8" master cylinder from an Avalanche that looks like it will bolt up. I may have to get some line adapters and modify the pedel push rod but that is not a big deal.

Post up pics of your set up in the disk conversion thread, I would love to see what you did.

I know I havent done an update in a while but on Saturday we had a little family outing. My wife and I took many of my aunts and uncles up southerland trail north of Tucson to spread my grandmothers ashes. Several years ago I took my grandmother their to spread my grandfathers ashes and in january before my grandmother passed she made me promise to do the same with her ashes. Not a lot of action pics as my wife and I each had people over 70 in our rigs but some pretty shots of the desert.

Things are good bro except we don't get to wheel enough. LOL As you can see from the pics the monsoons are on there way but so far no big rain just heat. we have been over a 100 for a couple of weeks. 108 today. Im really glad that Smokey has a killer A/C. In fact we ran it full bore on Saturday and my temp gage never came above half way. :cheers:

So Craigslist is my friend:driving::driving: Picked this up today for $250 and now I will begin to build my front bumper.

Ramsey 9000 profile winch. Used but saved about $800 over new. tested it before I bought it and am looking forward to cleaning it up and getting started on the front bumper. and Oh yeah it is mounted on a nice winch plate that will be a great base for the bumper.




I think it will fill this hole nicely

So for almost the last 40k miles I have loved my 315x70R17 Mickey Thompson MTZ's. But they were down to the wear bars and So I began the process of trying to chose a new tire. I thought about the MTZ again but what I really wanted was the Pitbull Rocker Radials. But at 417 plus shipping there was no way I could justify $2k for tires. So I began to look at my options and thanks to Discount Tire I ended up with 35x12.5R17 Goodyear Wrangler Kevlar MTR's. They are 34.8 inches tall and everything I have read says they should function well for me. I have read that they have trouble balancing so I went with Airsoft BB's for balancing. So far I have nothing to complain about except that I need to add some more BB's since I am getting a little vibration at about 68 mph.

Since I have lifetime alignment from Firestone I went there right away to have it aligned but found that my drivers side inner tie-rod is shot. At least an inch of play. So looks like a new Safari LTD steering rack is in my very near future. Im closing in on the cost of a front SAS. LOL but is have to keep reminding myself that this rig is not a hardcore crawler I have one of those and it does have 39.5 pitbull rockers. :guitar3:

Quick update. Got the Safari LTD Steering rack ordered today should be here end of the week with new energy suspension bushings. Gotta save the tiresray:
