This wire pin....?

I was doing some modd's and discovered this wire pin. At first I thought I must of disconnected it by accident but then I found there is nowhere for it to go. I am assuming it must be some form of generic wire harness that all 5th Gen 4runners are equipped with and those with certain options the wire is used or its not?

I did search as I remember something like this a while back, but couldn't find it.

Does anyone now what it is and what it would be used for? Now I'm just curious!

You should have gotten the plug with pigtails attached when your truck was delivered.

alright .. someone educate me...

Since I've never trailered anything.. can you elaborate? I have the pig tails but never understood what they were for. I thought you simply plugged the plug from the trailer into the receptacle besides the hitch??

The harness is to make it easy to hook up a brake controller, used for heavier trailers, and campers.
