TJM Snorkel for 5th Gen?

Hello everyone, we just wrapped up an install for [MENTION=49966]mikey's2010SR5[/MENTION]
and we'd like to share what the install process generally looks like. Unfortunately the antenna has to go, but only the AM Radio seems to be affected. I've included pictures of a fender liner tab that will need to be cut off in order to seat the intermediate tube inside the fender.

All the print material and labeling state Toyota 4Runner. The fitting instructions also show pictures of a 5th gen 4runner.

I think that's from the US distributor who adapted it, for example TJM has no 5th gen snorkel on their website

The fit is good. Don’t think it is an adapted model. It does follow the lines very well.

Did a trail troll(tree) rip off your other ditch light or did you remove it for possible snorkel clearance issues?

Clearance issues. They both are currently residing on my front bumper.

When the hood is open the passenger side makes contact?
I'm running sdhq brackets w squadrons, just wondering how tight or if they could be fudged a bit to work?
Looks really clean from the pics! I was also curious about the fit at the gobi fairing, looks nice

Getting my TJM snorkel installed currently. It has been verified for us pre refresh guys you WILL loose your antenna (AM side). No a big deal for me (too late to go back) just use the iPod like I always have.

So there is a way to maintain the stock antenna. It’s a slight mod and the inner air tube will fit with no problems.
[MENTION=245329]CaTunedOffRoad[/MENTION] I’d be happy to chat and share for your future installs. But in short, you cut the antenna base and reinstall without the bottom mount. I ended up using silicone to hold the base up by ultimately, the tube will hold the antenna up. To help with seating it, I used an appropriate sized washer on the antenna side to help “hold” the base in while the silicone seals.

There was no fudging with the light cannons. Small lights on the CBI ditch brackets that I have should be ok. Don’t know about SDHQ one.

As for the Gobi fairing, it’s a non issue. Clears easily.

I would argue that my safari snorkel has much cleaner fender fitment than that. Could just be the pics tho.

Nah, its just the pics. It fits the fender the 5th 4R, Prado or otherwise.

Have driven through multiple hard rain storms. No water in the air box.

So I’ve had my TJM snorkel for a week now but just haven’t had time to install it but seeing all the post today inspired me. So after work i got down and dirty with it. Installation was straight forward, just follow the instructions and you are golden. Mine is a 13 so I have the fender antenna as you can see, so I shorten the base as [MENTION=68685]Ducmonsta[/MENTION] described and everything works in harmony. Fitment, fit and finish is great definitely recommend it as an alternative to the ARB Snorkel. I love the sleek look to it. If you are in the socal area hit up Steve at RPM garage in Monrovia and he can get you any TJM product or anything else you may need for your 4Runner.

For those that have installed, are you getting any wind noise? The gap between the snorkel head and the roof looks like it could cause some noise.

I drove in to work this morning about 45 freeway miles and didn't hear anything added, no wind noise, no extra intake noise, nothing like that.

Nope... put on 300+ miles at highway speeds with no noticeable noise.

Just curious, have you had any water get into the snorkel when driving in heavy rain? Is there a water drain/separator in the snorkel to keep rain water from getting into the filter box?

Anyway the picture of the snorkel mounted with what appears to be a baja designs flat rack helped me make a decision. So thanks. :thumb3:

I have a baja flat rack and have an antenna on passenger fender and those were the two possible fitment questions I had. The pic appears to have answered one of the questions, so I placed the order.

Did you go with the TJM snorkel and keep your compressor in same place? I have compressor in same place and was wondering if it would fit.
