My Pioneer HU does not have a dimmer wire but that's of no consequence, my phone screen is brighter than any other light in the car when playing Amazon Music lol

Glad you two comment on the dimming or brightness as I had the below thread open for the past few days. The OP feels that the Pioneer HU, which looks to be what I have or similar, is too bright at night. So, he has that orange/white wire connected, and prefers it that way. Doing so seems to have been problematic for others though, so I'll need to find those discussions...

Thanks for confirming the grounding of the parking brake wire. Any reason to not just tie that green wire in with the two blacks? Seems like the way to go, as opposed to finding a grounding a point, or making one...
Ok, that blue antenna power wire on the Metra adaptor. I want the option to manually power my antenna, as stated earlier. Since the toggle and rocker switches I found have multiple pins, I ordered some simple two pin ones, set to come on Friday:

What should I connect with this Blue Metra wire?
Looks it might actually be the blue/white wire on the Pioneeer HU. From the owner's manual:
"Notice for the blue/white lead When the ignition switch is turned on (ACC ON), a control signal is output through the blue/white lead. Connect to an external power amp’s system remote control terminal, the auto-antenna relay control terminal, or the antenna booster power control terminal (max. 300 mA 12 V DC). The control signal is output through the blue/white lead, even if the audio source is switched off."

Install the switch in between the harness antenna power and the metra antenna power and you will be GTG

Blue wire (Metra) and blue/white (HU). That seems to be the case alright.
For the reverse gear (back-up camera), can one tap into a wire at the auto trany shifter? I have all of that open still... Otherwise, I imagine many just pick-off from a reverse bulb in the tail light assembly. If an option, I'd prefer the trany as I can do it now...

I suspect it would be cleaner and shorter (easier) at the trans/shifter area, however I don't know where or which wire exactly. Might be a plug on the trans itself. Search that on here, it's been done 100x I'm sure.

When I did mine, I just tapped into the reverse light wire in the back. I mean you have to run the video cables back there for the camera anyways. I do remember someone on here posting about taping into the transmission but don't remember it being too descriptive for my liking.
I think the other option is the "R" light on your cluster but that's above my paygrade.

You make a good point about rear camera and wiring, I mean what's one more 22GA wire when you are going back there already
As far as the R light on the gauge cluster, doable but why mess with it?

There's no need to worry about a tin connections there with screw terminals. With appropriate clamping pressure, you should have an air-tight connection between the screw terminal and the spade, just like a good crimp. No worries about corrosion, even inside the door cavity.
If your head unit has separate 'antenna' and 'amp' wires, you won't need the switch unless you want the antenna down while the radio is on.
As others have said, you need to power the reverse camera anyway, so you will be tapping into the brake lights already. The reverse camera should have the trigger/power wire included in the 'harness' that runs up to the headunit.

Not sure if you got your answer but that is exactly how I grounded my parking wire and the remote wire (blue/white) goes to your amplifier to tell it to power on when you deck turns on.

Thank you for confirming on both!
I'll be using crimp nuts on these harness connections. I had forgotten about these, and that I generally prefer them over butt connectors, at least in most applications. I like being able to twist the wires together, then crimp...
I'll leave the dimmer disco'd initially.
The mute from the HU, that too will not be connected. Per the owner's manual:
"If you use an equipment with Mute function, wire this lead to the Audio Mute lead on that equipment. If not, keep the Audio Mute lead free of any connections."
So, I believe I now have a plan for each wire, except the aforementioned back-up one. I realize of course that I can source that from that bulb in the rear, but I'm still leaning toward something within the cabin, ideally that I can easily address now. This might interest some.

No worries, good luck sorting it out. FWIW, I ran the wire for the backup camera to the back along with the RCA and wired it to the reverse lights. I also ran the power wire coming off the camera to the reverse lights but I think I might rewire that to a constant switched power so I can turn it on when I'm not in reverse.

I've pushed my luck as of late... Taking the wiring harnesses into the house, wires across the floor and fireplace mantel, not the best of ideas I suppose, but it allowed me to be productive during some inclement weather.
"Jack" (not Rita) leaking water didn't help matters either. Me in the back of the truck with a pillow and blankets until 4:30 am waiting for a leak... Once the HU is in, everything buttoned-up, I'll make sure to have some of her favorite tunes ready to go. Aiming to make that Tahoe trip a special one for the family, and Jack will be center stage...
Agreed on the constant power. I will do just that, and for another camera too, likely forward-facing. I believe this HU allows for two video inputs... Constant power and the reverse are both right "there" so I like the idea of addressing those by the HU or under the dash area. I'll see what I can figure-out...
Sitting in the garage now. Just a constant mist or drizzle. I cannot remove the tarp yet. Drat. So, I've been doing some more excavating on the side of the house. Nice when the ground is wet. I prepared it for the rains too make it easier for the rain water to enter tough dig locations. Just removed a boulder the size of a Beagle!
