Torn CV boot - inner / diff side

So I noticed a terrible smell today which is the result of a torn inner cv boot and grease all over the wheel well. What's the consensus here, is it to just do the boot or the entire cv? It's the inner boot of course closest to the diff. Thanks.

I'd just sell it and get a Yukon XL Denali and more kids...:cry2:

But as someone who sold parts for over 6 years I'd recommend replacing the entire shaft. While you do it grab a boot kit for when your out on the trail. The Autozone ones that are not rebuilt are nice. They might have a lifetime warranty also. The boot kits always leak to some extent.

Trust me, drove A Yukon XL all week in Colorado and had no complaints. With just the 5.3 let alone the 6.2!

I carry a a napa spare... but only to get me home...

Also be aware that they improved the CV axles in 2010 (not the boots though). The older 4 gen/FJ axles will still fit, since it has all the same dimensions... but does not seem to be as strong.

reboot for sure, or suck it up and buy a new OEM axle (they are not cheap).
