some pics a buddy sent me of his 35x12.50x20 ATii extremes he's putting on an f250. Look good in pics, haven't seen em in person yet. the xtreme pattern is the only one I'd consider, i don't know what sizes they come in, it's not really clear on the tire sites.

I'm considering the 285/75r17. I don't know how bad they'll rub or how much power loss I'll have, or if they'll be too stiff (they're 3 ply sidewalls). But they have the 500 mile trial period so I'll give them a shot after I chop my body mount.

sorry about the non-4r sample, but here's my tahoe with the LT style AT2s (285/60/18). it definitely looks more aggressive than the P units.

according to the toyo at2 spec sheet, for example, you can get a 265/70 in the less aggressive P style or LT style. LT style is E rated and about 8 lbs heavier.

I am actually looking at these in the 285/65 18 and 265/70 18. I think the 285/65 18's would look a little better because of the little bit extra width. I wanted to see how you were liking yours?

I have looked at the size chart on the Toyo site and can't figure out which ones are the Extreme and which have white lettering? Anybody know how to decipher their chart?

Not that this is much help, but I relied on my tire guy. I told him a couple sizes and we discussed his recommendations. I felt that the LT & Xtreme would be overkill for my needs. The P rated I went with have been great and still have good road manners

Yeah, they look really nice. They look a lot like the BFG Rugged Terrains i have. Those Extremes look really cool, but they would also be overkill for me. Right now i am looking at another set of BFG Rugged Terrains, BFG AT, General Grabber AT2's and Toyo Open Country AT II's.

I've had the Grabber AT2's (on another car) and they're really loud and I've heard they have a tendency to wear unevenly & become even louder. They are a cheap version of the overpriced BFG ATs though.
If I were you, I'd check the Hankook Dynapro ATMs & Nitto Terra Grapplers too. Obviously, my vote is for the Toyo's though

I had read that about the Grabber AT2's getting louder with wear....That might take them off the list. The Toyo's do look really good. i am not in a hurry so i will just keep looking around.

I emailed Toyo regarding the difference in weight of the 2 LT285/70r17 tires, and they said one is made in Japan and one in USA. The lighter one with the white lettering is made in Japan and they said "Both tires are made with the same Toyo integrity and compounds". I don't know why they bother selling the Japanese one.

Also, Ellis automotive in the Denver area has buy 3 get one free until the end of the month.

So it's official - you all won me over and I'm finally placing my online order tomorrow for the Toyo Open Country AT2's.

Just one last/final "discount double-check" --> Now that it's been a couple months, are you all still happy with your AT2's?

Btw - I'm ordering them with ATX Crawl wheels as well. Thanks to seeing how good these wheels look on a Nautical Blue Runner (i.e. NJshadow93's Runner. Thanks again for allowing me to plagiarize - lol). Can't wait!

Just recently found these tires. You guys still liking them? I have the stock limited 18's so my tire sizes are a tad limited. I currently have fj coils and will be getting 5100s at least on .85 for a little more lift, with the DS 1.5 in the rear. Im searching for a pic of the 265/60/18s. Guess if I have to go bigger to go a tad wider then ill do what I have to..

Stanley - Your truck looks great!

I am pretty sold on this tires after reading through this thread. I did notice one person that said they lost a couple of MPGs with the new tires, and one person said they actually gained a couple. Anybody else have some feedback? I"m about to start a job that begins with a cross country trip and will pack on a lot of miles this summer, so fuel economy is important right now.

Also, do you guys prefer buying from a shop or ordering them online? I'm sitting here looking at the print-out I got from les schwab, and, less the installation fees, I can save over 300 bucks by getting them online. So what is it going to cost me to get them installed? And what advantage is there to just purchasing them straight from the shop?

if u ever hvae any issues (sh!t happens), they'll cover you. mount and balance should be included irrc or for a much reduced fee than if you byot.

Nice looking tire. What's the actual measured tread width edge to edge on those? My wheels are 8.5" wide and when I get tires I want a minimum of 8.5" of tread width so they won't have the "bubble" look.

I'll check it out tomorrow. I did measure the tread width previously and was surprised it was like spot on to the Toyo claimed width. I think that and the sidewall.

I think you should be more concerned about the sidewall width compared to the rim and compared to the tread. Not just tread vs rim. Right? I know what you mean by the bubble effect..
