Where did all you guys find a 4runner with cheap plastic. Mines came with expensive plastic and lots of it. Did them other guys not see the plastic before they bought?
I dunno what all you guys did but Package G2C-H was an Upgrade. Clearly stated that:
Package G2C-H will include a clean glove compartment (Gloves are for old a$$ people), Moonroof AND Sunroof in one for better upward viewing. ALL tire air is both Clean and Green no need to let any out because it smells like a sweat sock tucked in an armpit under Grannys Adult Diaper so take our word for it.
ALL cheap a$$ plastic will be upgraded to much better plastic like "other" folks have.
Cost: $2.49 (MSRP)

I was never interested in a 4Runner until the 5th Gens came out. Guess that makes me a cheap plastic whore.
Will say those who have hopped in the car for the first time tend to comment on how nice the interior is. Guess it's good I don't have a 4th Gen, because with all its fanciness, they'd be creaming all over. The great news about - not - coming from a 4th to 5th Gen is I have nothing to get over.

EVERYTHING is Plastic anymore, Even Metal is made out of Plastic.
It is what it is - Stuff that needs to be Metal is still metal. I would rather have weight savings where I can get it. OMG! This keyboard and mouse are Plastic! When did mice stop being made out of mouse stuff.....

Except the Ford Explorer has a zillion complaints against it by disgruntled owners mostly from the transmission failing just out of warrant when Ford wouldn't replace it. If you Google Ford Explorer problems and complaints it just goes on forever.

I did the same thing. My 99 SR5 (manual transmission) was $32k msrp I paid $30K. My 11 TE with KDSS was about $40K msrp I paid $37K. The 11 has 4 wheel disc brakes, 4.0L vs 3.4L engine with chain driven camshaft drive. In 12 years only a $5-8K increase in price? Toyota has not decontented the 4R that much so they must have made a larger profit in 1999. BTW my 99 still has to do all the dirty work around here like exploring nasty FS roads and putting up with the magnesium chloride on the winter highways. The TE is a better riding highway car with better gas mileage 23mpg vs 21mpg.
