ToyotaCare WTF

... Is It Too Much To Want My Wife To Be Able To Bring IN The Car And Not Get Ripped? Apparently....

Sadly, that answer is probably "yes". I just choose to not have my wife deal with this -- short of gas, everything to do with her car is mine.

My sister has a huge bullseye painted on her back. She "trusts" everyone. So now, I have her trained to politely request all the "recommendeds" in writing and to just say "I'll get back to you on this". If she's pressed with "dangerous" conditions, she calls me.

Where Do I Sign? So I Have To Bring My Phone In At 1k Post Intervals? lol

This Is Making My Wait So Much Better

Good!
Do you know what the three biggest upsells are at car dealerships? Now let me warn you - I will catch flack from some of the more "sensitive" members here but so what. I got this from Forbes if somebody wants to go find it:
1. Preventive oil changes - Convincing someone to change their oil early.
2. Extended Warranty on a Reliable Vehicle.
3. Any Paint or Fabric Protection Plan From the Dealer.

Don't forget to change the headlight fluid!!

I hope you don't use that phone to communicate with your customers.

:dammit:

:rtfm:

:jk: (sorta)

I do use the phone for business purposes. My old phone broke and they sent this replacement and it was all weird. Happens only when I dont use an app and just go to the mobile site directly. Ok for texts...
**Update - another board member has helped me resolve this!!! Bonus for me!

And for those who care - service finished. All tires wearing evenly and in great condition.

Maybe when they rotated your tires they noticed you threw a wheel weight and figured you needed them rebalanced? For as many rip off stories there are 10x the good stories of dealers helping people out.

No this was BEFORE they took the car into the service bay. They wanted me to sign off on it.

Agreed good dealers exist. I like the dealer where I bought the car, unfortunately that is 180 miles away...

I believe you actually have 5 services as part of ToyotaCare.

5K/10K/15K/20K/25K

Oil changes at 10K/20K; tire rotations at all 5 of these.

Maybe someone else can confirm this.

Not sure I'd want to drive 180 miles for service at any mileage interval.

Just me talkin'

Why do you think it is OK to insult people like this?

Sure I bash dealers... Who gives a shit, they are mostly incompetent crooks, if you don't know that you are the real life idiot.

Said the pot to the kettle. What's the difference between shooting back at a member here because I was called an "internet tough guy" and stereotyping the "mostly incompetent crooks" that are really people just trying to make a living. 1engineer is absolutely correct, you'll have to share your dealership horror story some day. Once it comes out in therapy that is.
