Toytec 1" Body Lift

but is it possible to induce a rake with body lifts? Say install 2" pucks towards the rear and only a .5" or 1" in the front?

Absolutely do not try to change rake with a BL. That is one of the worst ideas ever.

I've installed a BL and I can tell you that what you are describing will cause damage over time. That is just my opinion, I'm not an automotive engineer, but I think it would be a TERRIBLE idea.

Great write up!
Is there anything that needs to be done with shifter linkages on a manual trans ?

No, on a manual there should be no adjustment needed. On another note, when some people do their lift in an automatic, they need to adjust their linkage due to slight displacement on the proper PRND spots on the shifter lights. I didn't have to adjust mine at all, but I guess it would depend on the tolerances to which your automatic was set to initially.

Anyone have issues with steering post install? 1 inch Toytec with the rag-joint spacer and now everything feels too tight. No center correct happening from my steering wheel after the corner.

I am hurt you got one from TOYTECH. Even tho I know the answer and should bite my toung and left you suffer I won't be that mean.

That's because you need to slide your slip yoke down. It's pulling steering shaft that goes into the rack up.

That's your problem. Once it's adjusted correctly you shouldn't have a problem.

Loosen the single bolt that clamps around the steering shaft and tap it around. Up or down and it should help settle it into place.

Problem solved

On the manual, there might be some cutting or modification to the plate under the console. It's been 4+ years since I did mine, but I do recall having to redrill (?) holes in that plate to get 2nd, 4th, Reverse. There's no linkage to adjust.

Nice write up!

Just one thing to add though, we dont include which bolts go where exactly because that actually does vary throughout the years of the 3rd gens. We have had 96, 97, 99, 2000, and 01 models in the shop at one time and they were all slightly different. Because of that, we decided to include some extra bolts just so they were all covered.

The best thing to do is lay them all out and pull one stock bolt out at a time and match it up to the new bolt plus whatever your body lift amount is.

Sounds like you got it all taken care of but as for the steering extension bolts, feel free to give me a call on that. I've installed that exact kit more times than i can count and never had an issue with the bolts being short. It could be possible that the wrong ones were included. Either way, i want to make sure its all how it should be.

I did my 1" body lift last night & didn't have to take off the front bumper? I just needed a long extension to hold the bolt from spinning. Slipped it down behind the grill.
