i trimmed the front plastic..i was surprised on how thin it was....im rubbing on the "dont quote me on this" upper a arm at full turn...looking to see whats out there for spacers...any suggestions?

Ya , I know ,the inner fenderwell is like paper thin, but very durable.When I put my new inner fender well plastic on , I slotted the bottom holes about a 1/4 more and pulled them forward as far as I could before I tightened then down to get more clearance.I'm good there now and I was more worried about that front mud flap where it bulges out on the inside.

I have 1.25" spidertrax spacers but they are hub centric.They move the wheels outward 1 .25 inches.My new wheels won't need them as they are 2 inches wider. Do you know what the backspacing on those rims are?Show some pics of where it's rubbing if you can.

looks great! my local shop said that the only company they knew of with a leveling kit for the 5th gen 4runners was RevTech which would give an overall 3" of total lift. (I'm assuming leveling kit is same thing as spacers, correct me if I'm wrong) But I guess they were wrong if ToyTec also has stuff for the new Runners!

got quoted around $1100 total - $500 to 600 for the kit and $500 for labor/install.

doodman--doug with toytec hooked me up, i have bugged him for the last 2 weeks with questions and concerns..the tech who installed it said it wasnt much more difficult than a 2009 t4r, he said the sway bars gave him the most problems...i paid $150 for the spacers and coils(doug gave me a discount) $300 for the labor and $50 for alignment...$1100 is way to much for a level kit in my opinion

looks real good. glad to see those rear coils work. i guess you didn't replace the rear shocks? do you notice your stock shocks being maxed out when u hit a speed bump or something? And i take from the 20's that you won't be off-roading. i'd definitely go this route if that were the case. nice work.

Looks Great!!!!!!

I am running same lift and tires, love both. I am also rubbing on Upper control arms or UCA's for short. You and I both need new ones. You can buy from Light Racing, Icon, All Pro Off Road to name a few. I am pretty sure they will fit since everything else for FJ's fit the 2010. They are nice because they give you more clearance right where we need it for wider tires, they also put everything back into alignment after lift.

Spacers will take care of the problem, but in the end you will be much more happy with new UCA's.

Toy Tec has the Light racing units on website. I am sure they can help you out.

DEMEAUX - from one of the pics you posted it looks like your tires aren't pushed out very far. i would guess spacers or different wheels would help your uca issue. looking at your pic i'm not sure aftermarket uca's would fix the rub. aftermarket uca's have a uniball which allow for a more straight connection to the spindle, and they are usually needed when you change the geometry of the suspension. i would try spacers before paying $500+ for good uca's, especially if they got your alignment back close to spec.

Every pair of aftermarket UCA's I have seen including the set I installed on my last FJ are made to provide greater clearance for this exact issue. I would be extremely surprised if it did not fix your problem. And he did change the geometry of the suspension, he lifted it 3" inches

You will notice a change in handling and ride with UCA's. Yes the least expensive option is $500 but definitely the correct way to go.
