If you actually get on the trail, then going with an E makes more sense.
What do you mean a 1/2" wider at the tread?
By going up a size I meant 265/70/17 instead of 265/65/17.
The Duratracs are fine on the highway too. Don't know why everybody is so concerned about this.

... which is exactly what pushed me towards the E's.
Sears Autocenter matches prices quoted on TireRack.com, so I took a printout up to them and got the E's for $209.00 a peice... plus mounting/balancing and all that mess. I get free lifetime rotations at Sears too. I just hope the hillbillies that work there know what they are doing.
4RunnerTrail: Yes, I've seen the pics. It's badass! I like my center caps though, wouldn't take them off. Do they mention anywhere what size those MTRs are?

Do you know what size wheel will fit?
.....things like rim width,hub centric or not,backspacing, and offset???
You should know that before you shop for wheels as all wheels are not available in our size or you may need spacers to make them work.

I want to buy the Series 7189 but not sure what size to go with.
I do know our stock wheels are 6 on 5.5, hub centric,7 inches wide and have 4.5 inches backspacing.Not sure of the offset but I think I read somewhere it's either -15mm or +15mm but can't find it anywhere to confirm. Not sure how the 0mm of the Pro Comp's would come into play.

TireRack.com has them listed with a treadwith of 8.7" for the E and 8.2" for the C. See here: Tire Specs for Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac
Stock size is 265/70/17, not 265/65/17. So therefore my next step larger jumps to 285. Otherwise I would have gone up.

My bad man. I was recovering from a crazy night.
I wanted a 275 Duratrac when I got mine. I really wish they would make that size.

I know almost makes me want to get the GoodYear MTR's in 275..... but i drive on road a lot.
just had a thought... maybe it's not the width that is the problem with rubbing... and it's the height... Does anyone make a 285/65 17? just did the math and basically same height sidewall as 265/75 17. Might look more aggressive than stock.
