As far as the install, I think TRD hired monkeys to make the piece parts. Overall, it wasn't too bad but the piece that screws onto the intake box that the filter attaches to didn't line up well with the holes on the box. Nor did the screws holes in the lid match up with those on the box. And that rubber piece that you're supposed to attach to the air inlet that supposedly seals up against the air inlet in the fender? It wasn't long enough nor would it stay in place so I trashed that piece. So I'll suck a little engine compartment air. Not an issue to me.
I've put about 5 or 6 miles on it today to run some errands and probably went about 2/3 WOT at one or two points. It sounds louder (as expected) but I won't know about the butt dyno and fuel mileage for awhile.
Despite the install woes (took me about 2 hours what with removing the air box twice), I'm tickled to have it on. I'll follow-up as time goes by.
