Went in today and they finally caved and placed the order for me. Both sides, can't even believe that is a question! Sure the shocks series are bad, but only on one side. LOL.

I had similar issues but it came from the service tech that he wouldn't have performed the TSB if he had known there was a lift installed. Line Manager got it taken care of without question since in my case the service tech tried shipping my Toytec parts back along with the old Bilsteins without telling anyone.
If it's the manager at your dealer that is refusing to perform the TSB you might have to try another manager or another dealer. Hopefully you have another choice nearby.
I found out that there are two managers: 1 for the actual service department; another one for the service lane. In my case the service lane manager got it all straightened out as the service manager happened to have been busy but was aware of the case. If the dealer you go to has a similar structure try another manager?
Dont forget to argue the point that they have it documented that the clunk was there before they themselves installed the Toytec Kit.

I know the feeling of seeing everyone with a TRD Pro on this forum with the same Toytec setup getting their dealer to honor the TSB no questions asked. Then mine came out honored but with only half the Toytec kit on.
Maybe have your dealer read this forum thread!
Im heading to another dealer nearby on Monday. I am hopeful to explain the situation and they hear the clunk and warranty the shock and I hear NOTHING about my lift. I will post the results after.

I have an appt for tomorrow to get mine checked out, I had the tech lookup the TSB at my 25k service and attach it to my file. I have the feeling that everything will be fine, no questions asked, but your story has me wondering if I should mention the lift in advance? I wasn't going to say anything unless they brought it up, but I don't want to get my truck back sans lift components... guess I'll go in there and shoot from the hip.

I had mine in for diagnosis yesterday, they were able to replicate the clunk (it was about 30 degrees) and ordered the parts. No questions asked, even about the lift. Going to wait til I take it in for replacement to make sure the tech doesn't replace the coil perches with stock ones. One nuance to note for anyone who hasn't taken theirs in yet... you can't technically go in and say "I want my shocks checked out regarding this TSB". You have to complain about the clunk in detail and they will look up the TSB after confirming it. Of course it helps to have the TSB number ready to give them in case they can't find it for some reason. Thanks to all in this thread for the info, and for anyone in the Portland area I would definitely recommend Beaverton Toyota.
Took my runner in today to finally got some good luck. I explained the situation how my shock was replaced several months back, and how a prior Toyota blamed the noise on my UCAs rubbing on my spring, but that clearly was not the case because both sides were doing that. They replicated the noise and put the passenger side shock on order, no questions about the lift :nod:. The Toytec lift is honestly on a dealer to dealer basis, these guys didn't mention it, and the prior shop wouldn't shut up about it. Super happy to finally have matching shocks.

They are ordering the new shocks with minimal resistance, you just have to go through the paces. Took a tech for a ride through some potholes and explained the situation, he went inside and ordered the new shocks for me. I did make sure they knew about the TSB prior. Said they might be in tomorrow! A big thanks to all that broke this trail!!!

New update. Bad news, they took out my lower perches and replaced with factory. Now I have to wait for tech to bring back my lower perches and pay another shop again to put them on. As it was a TSB item they say they can't put the perches I had from Toytec back on

Good question. I don't know for certain.
I would presume that the new shocks DO come with their own lower perches.
I don't believe that the lower perches for the TRD Pro front coilovers are the same for all the other vehicles so it wouldn't be a part in-stock at the dealer. Otherwise they would have told me to wait another day for more parts to come in. Which would have in-turn raised questions as to why the Toytec lower perches weren't being used etc.

Got mine done yesterday [emoji1360]They were a bit of a pain. After truck got back there they called me back. Showed me that they did not realize lift was on it and would take longer. PLUS had they realized would not of approved TSB. I basically IMO got pushed to back of line as I sat for 5hrs 20min until truck done.

On my 2015 TRD Pro, I heard the clunk pretty early on last winter on a long trip up to Mont Tremblant. My wife and I drove about 12 hours in rough conditions to go snowboarding in Canada. As we got more north in to Quebec and the road conditions deteriorated, the clunk became more pronounced. I had heard about it, but had never done any real research and I was not on this site yet. When I returned home, I complained to the dealer that something was loose and they went over the suspension and found nothing.
At the beginning of this winter I heard it again, found this thread and asked the dealer. Of course the day I brought it in, it was warm so they could not replicate it. My truck went in again about two weeks ago and I actually gave the TSB number to the service manager. He looked it up and said they would "look in to the sound for me" while it was getting the 15,000 mile service. When I picked the truck up, he went over everything and then mentioned (under his breath) that they had ordered new shock for me. I almost didn't catch it.
I asked if when they put the shocks on, if they could put a spacer in the front (Toytec lift). I figured while they had the shocks and coils off, it would only add about 30 minutes to install the spacer. I could do it myself, but I don't have a garage and the temps in Philly have been pretty low.
When I install the coils on the back, I am thinking of installing the internal air bags for when I tow my motorcycles, have my RTT tent/awning/pelican cases on the roof of the truck so there is not the typical sag. Has anyone done this airbag kit with the Toytec coils?

I've had the clunk since i bought the SUV. I installed the Toytec 2" lift with the front spacers and rear springs. I thought the lift kit would get rid of the clunk, but its still there. I also added Camburg UCA's. I am going to follow you guys and request that both front shocks are replaced under warranty for the clunk. My dealer hates my lift/UCA's, they always give me problems, saying its aftermarket, etc. Let's see if they will replace the front shocks under tsb/warranty.

Went to the Toyota dealer yesterday for a State Inspection. They said your 2016 TRD Pro is exempt from state emmissions testing and you only need the ticket for the front windshield, so I said whatever. They charged me $10.00
I told him listen, when I bought the truck in FEB2016, i noticed a clunk on the left side, and now this winter im hearing it again, and want my two front shocks replaced via TSB. I showed him the TSB # and that other people were getting theirs replaced via TSB/warranty.
So his question to me was, isnt your truck modified, what RIMS do you have on the truck, I said STOCK, i just have bigger tires.
I then stated, let me replicate the clunk for you, let a tech drive my truck, or let me take him for a ride. THEY REFUSED, saying there was snow on the ground and they cant take test drives in the snow/wet conditions that i must come back when roads are dry. I said listen... I have the clunk, i want both my front shocks replaced under TSB/Warranty. He said a tech must hear the sound first, then do what he can to get rid of it, then once all is exhausted, they will go by the TSB, he said if it was so bad there would be a recall. I told him no. There is a TSB, if he hears the clunk, i want my front shocks replaced no questions asked.

What dealer do you take your truck to? I have taken my TRD Pro to Conicelli in Plymouth Meeting and they are a lithe resistant, but seem to want to work with me. I got a PM from a local guy in Philly who said he got his Toytec lift installed, alignment and tires (285s) mounted and installed for $600 which seems pretty good. Yes, he got the tires elsewhere and they were like $1000 for 285/70/17 Nittos.

I'm in NYC. $600 for all of that sounds great.
I paid $700 just to get the Toytec 2" lift/Camburg UCA's installed, and an alignment, in New Jersey @ Tony's 4WheelDrive. I've been off-road in very rocky terrain and the lift held up great so far. Tony's in NJ, its near Giants stadium.

My Toyota dealer refused to install the lift and UCA's. They wouldn't install it. My Toyota dealership refused to rotate my 285 tires at my 5k mile service. Real scumbags.
I grabbed the tires online for around $1k, had them shipped to me, and had them "road forced" balanced locally.

Are you stuck with only one dealer nearby?
Mine was giving me trouble but after leaving a message with the Shop Manager and then talking with the Line Manager they worked with me to get it done and put the Toytec lift back together. It took two trips to get it all done though. This was with a Thanksgiving Holiday in between where I had a "1/4-mile-dragster rake" going on without the lower 1" perch on the front coil-overs.
The service tech that did my TSB said he didn't realize the coilovers had a lift on them. The fact that your deal was wondering if the wheels were after-market sounds similar. I worry that these "Toyota Certified Service Techs" don't know their product line and they are supposed to be our only way to get warranty work performed. Granted in all fairness there is too much to know across all models, years and packages but then I can't believe they don't have access to resources that they can sit down and read up.
Good luck to you! I hope you find a way to get the TSB done to your satisfaction. I have had mine through the colder days here in the DC-Balt metro area and it is completely noticeable that the "clunk" is gone. Feels like a solid ride again like during the warmer days.
I still need to get the bigger tires but I am waiting on getting a stutter figured out when the transmission goes into lockup at 42-46mph and trying to hold that speed on a slight incline. I don't want the dealer to come back and say it's because of the bigger tires.
