Trd pro lift question

All,

I got the Toytec 2 inch kit installed on my 4Runner few months ago. The different between front and back is 3 inches (if I am running on empty or close to empty tank of gas). That different becomes 2 inches or so if the tank is full

I have few questions:
- Should the difference be 2 inches on an empty tank or full tank?
- Is there a way to get the truck level after installing the Toytec kit?

I had the Toytec lift on my TRD Pro for a 1.5 years. I averaged a rake of 1.75-2.00 inches...I never had more than a 2 inch rake, and have not heard of anyone with this lift having a 3 inch rake.

What are your front & rear measurements?

Full tank with SAW rear coils I am at 1.68 inches of rake, Icon stage 2 here I come. Thanks Viper!

I measured again this evening and my rake is about 2.2 inches. I plan to have someone else look at the install to make sure it was done right.

When i take the measurements, the car is in the garage - not sure the garage is perfectly flat.

I measure from the ground to the fender flare.

Sorry for all the confusion. My knowledge in cars is minimal.

I just measured again this evening.

Driver front: 36.8
Driver rear: 39.0

Passenger front: 37.0
Passenger rear: 39.6

I am measuring while car is parked inside my garage. I have to check tire pressure tomorrow and measure in a different location.

I can't visually see a difference between driver and passenger of 0.6 inches.

I will have the truck looked at again to make sure the install was done correctly.

If you are measuring ground to fender, I have 285''s, so mine may be different from yours.....but with the Toytec lift, I was close to 38 in the front, and about 39.75 in the rear.

You received and installed the larger bottom spacer, as well as the smaller top spacer?

I just called Toytec tech support and asked about the 1" coil perch lift vs the 3/4" top spacer lift and he (Justin) recommended the 1" all the way. Said it wouldn't reverse rake the truck. Said the 3/4 really works out to about 1/2".

I'm going to order the 1" and see.

so the 3/4" gives a 1/2" lift, and the 1" gives a 1" lift??? interesting. i'll go with the 1" i think. i would be fine level or even reverse rake but i'm not staying as is with the ass up in the air

I think it's because the 3/4 is on the top above the shock and the 1" is on the bottom and actually compresses the spring. It'll be a couple weeks before I can install but I'll be sure to report back.

We have seen a lot of success with OME Coils on Bilstein 5100's. This is a great option for those with bumpers and winches.

There are options for aftermarket springs for the 6112's; 650 and 700lb.

We look forward to seeing what Dobinsons Mike comes up with on the TRD set-up.

If anyone has a set of these used that they're trying to offload, or specifically the coils, we will probably be looking for a set of them. Then we can work on a few replacement options for them, different ride heights, without losing the TRD shocks.

See lots of folks installing 285s with the minimal rub corrected by heat guns and a razor knife. Can anyone comment on how the Toytech lift AND 285s behave offroad?

Ran that lift kit for about 9 months and never had any rubbing issues off-road..I was running 285/70/R17 General Grabbers AT2s

Thanks. From what I understand, those would run larger than the BFG K02s when evaluated true to size? I think the BFGs were running smaller.

I think it's because the 3/4 is on the top above the shock and the 1" is on the bottom and actually compresses the spring. It'll be a couple weeks before I can install but I'll be sure to report back.

I've been running my pro with just the 1" botttom spring perch for awhile now. It levels out the rig, doesn't cause a reverse rake as long as the rear isn't heavily loaded, and I have had no decernable difference in ride quality on or off road. Here's a shot right after install and then another couple of shots after I put on 275 KO2s

When I was running the Toytec lift, as well as K02 275's, there was some definite rubbing when the Spidertrax were added.

I had no rubbing at all with K02 275's even at stock height/before lift. Once lifted, still no rubbing...but once the Spidertrax were added, there it was.

I went out with a local 4x4 club after I got my Trail. It was stock and I was pushing snow. The other vehicles were lifted. Now with the Toytec Boss lift I'm up just a bit higher and it makes a big difference.

Does the boss lift complement the bilstein suspension??
