Looks Like the rest of the stuff will be here Monday. A local 4x4 shop finally responded to a question I had on the 5100's. I told him what I had ordered instead and he just said "sweet"

I told him I was going to do the install next weekend unless he wanted to shoot me a price. He said he would do the job for $200.00. including removing the exreas. Alignment at Schwabs is another $60.00. I'm thinking that seems reasonable since I still need to chase down a spring compressor.

Fishing next weekend sounds like more fun....

Any thoughts?

Seems reasonable if for all 4 corners and rear coil, otherwise anticipate +/- 4hrs of your time from racking up to cleaning up. Biggest time consuming part was having the right size spring compressor and reaching to get the rear Xreas brackets.

Well all done and I ended up doing it myself this morning. Took about 5 hours with a one hour trip to the Les Schwab in town to have the springs compressed. I had it aligned there as well.

The 4 x 4 shop that I was going to have do it was closed today. So I gathered the stuff and got it done.

I found some great stuff here on the forum for disconnecting the Xreas. It was about the easiest part of the whole job. I left the lines installed for now.

The hardest part today was getting the bottom bolt back into the shock on the pax side. It was a royal pain.

The truck sits level as far as wheel well gap but looks a bit nose high. The front shock spring perch's are set on the third groove. Going to drive it a few weeks and decide if I need some spacers or some springs. right now the 5160's are using the stock springs. I'd still like to have a bit of a rake to it.

That looks great. Such a nice stance. How are you liking the ride so far?

I like the ride. It is very similar to my 2014 FJ Trail ultimate. That had a really good ride for gravel roads, pot holes, and the road to work. (county maintenance over an old land fill)

The ride feels more supple and not as rough I guess you would say. The wheels and tires are doing the moving instead of the truck/seat. Handles great on the highway up to 70, 2 lane roads with hills and curves no problem or excessive lean.

Not to be confused it doesn't drive like my GTI... That little thing is a kick in the Azz to drive! Only 60 hp less than the 4Runner I believe, but thats not my expectation. I have a few great fishing holes to get to this summer with my 14 yr old son. They are the kind of places you have to WANT to get to. This is going to get us there with just a bit more room and comfort than the FJ did. I love the 3 FJ's that I've had, but this 4runner is rapidly becoming my favorite.
