Finally got power to my new seats! The driver seat was in a fine position, so it wasn't a big deal to not have power for a couple weeks.
Pretty simple to do. Just find the larger gauge blue wire in the wire trough-

I HATE these things, and never use them. I bought them when I was feeling lazy, and just wanted an easy quick job tonight, so I went to use the damn POS-

Fortunately, it didn't work worth a shit. I didn't want it on my 4Runner anyway. And yes- it was sized properly to the wires being tapped.
Stripped some insulation, and used a barrel I made. Now you know my secret-

The red was too small, so I ended up using a blue. You get the idea.

Also re-pinned my low res warning SW-

Tried to route it factory-like, but it's a little on the short side. Oh well.

I need to get a T100 booster and master. The brakes work awesome, but the pedal feel sucks.
I guess I could try the bigger 3rd gen master first, but I think the T100 will be better with the 231 calipers anyway.

Good for you man. I always tread the line between "func-tion" and "Feng-shui" (operation vs looks) erring on the side of func-tion whenever necessary. You seem to never settle for anything less than perfection.

I've had to go back thru a lot of my func-tion comprises to appease the feng-shui OCD you and others had ingrained within me.

Look good, feel good right? If only I could tell my getting-fat-ass that and hit the f*ckin treadmill every now and then. But I digress.

I'm curious about your brake concern and will await your findings.

I do tend to drive on the fast side, but the only moving violation I've gotten was for speeding when I was 18(I'm 30). I try not to be on my phone, and I don't drive like an idiot.

Hey now, don't be sayin things like that to me! I don't get attached to vehicles, and everything is for sale!
But- to be honest- I'm basically building my dream rig too. I occasionally saw Thunder Cloud 3rd gens around town, and whenever I did, it was definitely a "THERES THAT COLOR!!" moment for me. The fact its almost the newest 3rd gen, a manual, corrected the inactive VSC/ATRAC, straight body... I love this thing.
That said- I can always build another one. I'm not really interested in letting it go, but- like I said- everything is for sale.
Maybe now I need to start running things by you, to make sure it's what you want [emoji23][emoji6]

But really- thank you. That's pretty cool to hear I have inspired.
It really is a balance. What I've learned is that I really appreciate things so much more when I take care of them. Along the same line- when I take the time/effort to do a job "right".
That said, there isn't only one "right" way to do most things, but there are plenty of wrong ways- and definitely better ways. I've dug in pretty deep in quite a few "genres" of vehicles, and with my OCD, I'd like to think I'm pretty balanced.
I am also on a little drop-some-pounds journey myself. Kind of in a race-to-200 little competition with my wife's cousin. I need to buckle down, but this Boneyard RPM IPA is REALLY good [emoji23]

Hope he doesn't mind me sharing- I took a trip this last weekend to help a friend [MENTION=135317]rkntoy[/MENTION] make some room for his 35's. I was pretty excited to tackle the project, as it's been a long time since I've done work like that(10+yrs), and it was in my mini-truck days.
I was pretty stoked with the outcome of the tub job on his firewall. I've seen guys cut out wherever it rubs, and just build patch panels from there. I decided to keep as much of the factory firewall as possible, and just re-work it.
This is full bump, before any cutting-

How I cut it-

Notice I kept the body mount support, and just layed it back-

Please don't judge my welds* Sheetmetal isn't the easiest to begin with, and then we were having some feed issues after we swapped the .025 wire in from the .035. Anyway-

Ended up with about 1/2" clearance at full-bump/full-lock. That should be plenty- especially for a rig with a front sway bar-

I left him with some welding and sealing to finish, but we got the bulk of it done, and then had some killer pizza and brews before heading home(responsibly). I can't help but mention how cool Steve and his wife are. I wish I didn't live 2.5hrs away, but am still thankful I'm only 2.5hrs away! It's a beautiful area, and we hope to move there one day. Lots of places to go explore and have fun. Lots of snow in the winter too [emoji1598]
I probably already mentioned it, but I'm getting the front windows tinted Friday, and I'm REALLY excited about that. Fishbowl life is killin me.

Thanks for sharing your work & pics. It's cool to see the different methods used to create room for larger tires. I think I remember reading in one of your posts that you just trimmed the front flare, fender liner and folded your pinch weld right? Do you plan on tubbing your firewall?

Yeah- there's definitely a few ways to go about it.
I need to tub mine for sure. It works for street driving and mild trails, but definitely needs tubbing for full clearance. Plus, it'll give me room for 37's and 40's later on [emoji12][emoji1598]

3.5" I believe. But they're BFG(KM2), so they're probably the same height as your 35's [emoji23]

I mean, 24" frame height with 5" up-travel on 40's?! What's not to love?! Besides the Taco front end.

I know that IFS/LT is better 95% of the time- with 5% being dedicated rock crawling- but I've always wanted 40's, and 40's on CVs just isn't a great idea [emoji854]
Plus, I have a super soft spot for sexy links and coils.

Right?! Man, I honestly don't know how he made that look so damn good. Incredibly clean job, for sure. I'd love to be able to keep my flares, but I don't see that happening.

eh - works for me. (i'd like to see smaller diameter wheels/more meaty sidewalls, fwiw)
