Ultimate Scion Headunit (stereo) thread

It is just visible in the pic attached to post 176 in the bottom righthand corner, it has a white USB cord plugged into it. If you would like a better pic let me know and I will take one this weekend.

I'm not sure where to start with 13 pages.

I've got an '05 Sport w/JBL.

What do I need for Bluetooth or Aux to connect my iPhone 5S?

Is the GTA Kit with Bluetooth or Lightning cable/adapter better?

Is either better than finding a new head unit?

If the new head unit is better, which one works with JBL?

I'll keep looking thru this thread. Thanks

I have an SR5 so didn't have to research the JBL part, google will turn up some good info though.

Here is a pic of the USB connector, also note I added the phone switches to the steering wheel. Another cool plug and play :-)

Wow, Simon, I basically want your setup exactly in my '08 Sport, including the heated seats! lol. I'm pretty sure I don't have JBL; will check again. My in-dash 6-cd changer is totally unnecessary, but I have been going through my old collection since I don't have an AUX input, but that needs to change soon!

Your install with the back-up camera is perfect. Where are you located? I would love to order every part you did and come over with a case of beers (or cash) and work on the car under your watchful eye/guidance.

Nevertheless, your write-ups probably saved me some $$$ if I get a professional install so I can be more specific abt parts and target time estimates.

Simonw Could you tell me the part number and the source you obtained the steering wheel phone controls from?

The phone controls were on the leather wheel when I bought it on eBay along with the audio controls. My car (2006 SR5) had the basic wheel with no buttons, adding the wheel with the controls is plug and play. No idea what the p/n's are. Simon

Gotcha! Thanks for the reply

Scion T1819 head unit question

Does anyone know what the PT546-00120-US (gray connector) connect to? My 4Runner is 2004 SR5 does not have USB or AUX, and I want to have both features and I am not sure what else do I need to make it happen. I just bought the T1819 HU and it comes with the PT546-00120-US. Any helps would greatly appreciated!

Simon, thank you very much for the clarifications. I am having a better understanding how the USB work on these Scion head unit now.
