Why don't more car makers put the keypad on thier cars?

IMO - because they look butt ugly and just another thing to go wrong - electrically.

I agree with Tim in Tx
I really loved my keypad entry.
After 8 years with the keypad it's only a matter of time before I lock my keys in the turck.
I never once had any problem with the keypad functioning. Even my Sales guy at the toyota dealership likes the keypad entry, and of course said no chance the 4runner is getting it.

Sure wish I could get that aftermarket.
