Wax/Polish recommendations

I use Klasse Polish and the sealant. The product is extremely durable and only needs to be applied twice a year, but it can be difficult to apply without a buffer or if you use to much.

:iagree:

A pea size amount should cover an entire panel. Two ounces for an average sized car.

Klasse AIO and SG were good prior to being reformulated. The newer AIO isn't as good as before. AIO is relatively easy to use, but put too much SG on and you'll cry removing it. A machine isn't necessary, as long as you make sure you use a very small amount.

Jeff's werkstatt is similar to the original AIO but IMO not as strong.

IMO, Zaino is good, but too expensive and too many steps.

Jetseal 109 is a very good sealant and easy to use, although the recommended 12 cure time can be cumbersome.

IMO, as long as your upkeep is good (wash often, wax or seal as needed), you don't have to use a product like AIO/Prime/etc unless you really need to clean the panel.

I currently use Blackfire wet diamond, but I may try the Menzerna next:

The BF is super easy to apply/remove, even easier than Chemical Guys Jetseal. Durability is about the same but the ease of use makes it my current fav.

When I detailed my car meticulously (TransAm Firehawk), I used Zaino with great results. Went on and off very easily, seemed to be quite durable too.

I agree. Zaino is the best by far, especially if you don't want to have to wax/polish every 2 months. Just follow the directions and you will have the best shine and beads for 6 months. I use z2, z5, and aio (about 4 coats altogether). I have used every wax mentioned here and they will not give you the results zaino does.

glad to know that. planning to use the Klasse sealant this autumn (before winter sets in) so your posting that info is timely. thanks!

My Dad never says anything to me about my 4Runner because he one of thoughs "Buy American" idiots but he even commented on the extreme shine of my Titanium Metallic. I use Meguiar's clay bar once a year, NXT 2.0 twice per year and Deep Crystal System Carnuba wax 4 times per year.

My wife drives a Phantom Gray Pearl Camry and that combination above works even better on darker colors.

Wash?

Wax?

Detail?

A nice covering of mud seals the paint for the next owner. My Tundra Crew Max has been washed once since new, I got silver so it hides dirt, my TE I got Grey dirt shows a little more but I am inside so the dirt doesn't bother me.

My sport cars I care a little more and have a guy clean up every month or so but off road vehicles? That's wacky:lol:
