We have TWO coolant drain plugs?

From the write ups I've seen its always just the one on the bottom to drain the coolant. I looked in the FSM and it shows that you're suppose to drain coolant from two plugs. The picture in the book is not very detailed but it looks like the second one is in the water pump area. Can anybody confirm this?

To drain fluid just from the rad, just loosen the one on the rad. If you want to completely remove the coolant, that includes the rad and the engine, youll also have to remove the plug thats located on the side of the block. So yes, two drain plugs, but most people, including mechanics, never drain the coolant from the engine and just do the rad being the engine doesnt hold that much coolant

When i did mine, a good amount was drained out of my block..

Since I'm planing to change my timing belt, water pump and thermostat, should I drain from the block too? I will flush my cooling system with distilled water as well.

If you're flushing your system then there is no need to drain the block as well because you will basically have 99% of the old fluid out due to the flush and WP install.
